Can people please tell me which they think is better the JR with the heat shield or a BMC cda kit

thanks

JR with heat shield all day long...

I had a bmc on my first s3 and the car felt sluggish compared to the standard panel filter,on my mtm s3 I put a Jetex on and seen 10 to 12 g/s increase of air flow on vcds

How is the s2000 paper one in all this rain? Any disintegrated yet?

Was toying with putting mine on tomorrow but wary of wasting long term integrity on a one month wonder ....

I've had my s2000 most of the winter. No issues. (Is within a heat shield mind)

Slightly better in performance, it is louder. But at £15 I wouldn't hesitate doing it again.

I love mine, it's awesome.

Filtration is potentially arguably better than the Jetex I did have, and the flow is very good. I've got the most powerful K03s on the forum, and I run one. :) Prawn has the most powerful K04 hybrid anywhere, and he runs one. :) Phil Miller has a 220bhp capable ported K04 and he runs one :)

So that makes three of the most powerful cars in their respective turbo segments which all run a £15 S2000 filter which used to run Jetex's.

Interesting. i'll install tomorrow then.

Do you need or recommend a heat shield? Will it benefit the s2000 filter at all.

I got mine off eBay, but if you look in the S2000 filter thread which was started by BENJAMIN you will find part numbers for the different colours you can get.

The colours make no difference, other than colour. And there is no benefit to getting a "performance" filter either.

Has that actually been proven against a brand new Jetex yet?

If so then how much better in performance is it?

Everyone who has logged them has seen a 3/4g/s improvement.

My felt slightly more powerful top end.

.

Has everyone compared the logs to what they would have taken when the Jetex was first fitted and it was brand new?

Or compared the logs to what they were replacing it with at the time? ie. An old Jetex filter.

I don't really know, all I do know is that the most powerful K03s, potentially the most powerful K04 and the most powerful K04 hybrid runs one. And we all used to run Jetex filters.

Which is enough for me :)

LoL - That's fair enough.

If only they came in blue :(

Green, Red + black, and Off white are the only one's I think they make.
