According to this thread http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/new-a3-8v-chassis/187359-my14.html the Audi systems are being updated for MY14 right now - maybe this is the point at which the S3 will be able to be ordered?

Aberdeen had one in a few weeks ago & made my mind up.... Even if it was white!
Had a look inside & it was dead. I wondered if it was just a rolling shell as opposed to a running car tho...
Now waiting for the books to open

Reading one of the other threads though, there is a possibility we may be quoted stupid lead times though up to 7 months !!!
If I have to wait till June to place an order and then get told 7 months, which would take it to January 2014, which would then mean logically take delivery in March 2014, well I don't think I could wait THAT long.
So gonna temper my hopes for this car now, until I have all the facts.
Saying that, it appears that some A3 orders have experienced delays part way through the order process, so even if we are told shorter delivery times, there is still a chance we could experience delays mid-way ... and that would seriously hack me off !

Your right snake, it's crazy that Audi UK cannot even confirm dates for ordering, or details of specifications etc. Very poor !!!
If it really is June for December delivery then I may go the route of the Merc A45 AMG as there is a chance of September delivery for one of those.

I don't see what the hold up is! It's available to order in Germany (at least that's my interpretation of it being in the price list), so why not here? Unless it's a RHD issue that's holding things up? I can't really think what though?

I ended up talking the wife in to an SQ5 and given these ongoing delays I'm pretty chuffed we did that.
I'd be getting pretty frustrated by now. Would have liked to try led headlights on the S3 though

What size wheels are the alloys in the photo Btw as they look like an option on the S3, which are 18".
Yes - that SQ5 looks really good in estoril blue with those alloys - pretty sure that is what I want on S3 - eventually !!!
Remember my previous post - when Audi UK told me S3 was delayed until June - well I had hoped it would be released sooner than that but its looking like what I was told could well have been fairly accurate!

although I did want September as my changeover, yes I am happy to wait as no pressure for me to change just my desire for change.

On my golf , at the time there were stories of 5- 6 month waits and dealer confirmed that, so I ordered in April for September (5 months) then low and behold my car was at dealers by July !! so i am a little sceptical of these quoted months and months lead times.
But really i can just go with the flow !

Seen it on a S6 and it looks good. Very dark in flat/poor light but got z lot of flake and pop in the sun. It's an interesting colour. Truth is my wife chose it... She didn't want a white<grey>black scale colour. Which left either estoril blue or volcano red which neither of us liked.

I'm close to taking delivery of an A3 S-Line (sigh - not an S3) but having spoken with the dealer this morning this is what he said was the situation on the S3:
Good Morning Stephen
Youâre car has been built and is at the port, and waiting to be shipped, so it will be with you within the time scale of your rental.
S3 are open for ordering but S3 Sportback will be later on in the year.
He did not elaborate any further than that. I can press further but from some of the posts in this thread you are already up to speed.
Hope Audi make it more clear and move quickly so you can get your orders in and cars as quick as.

Oh ... read in Top Gear mag last night small snippet on the A3 / S3 saloon and it is being made specifically for the Japan market as they like compact saloons apparently ... then rolled out to other markets as its available, but Japan was the driver for making it in the first place.

The ONLY thing which makes me think you can't place a true pucker order at the moment is the fact that the price (even 3 door) is still not listed on the Audi web site.
So does your Dealer mean that the sequence mentioned is the release order and he is happy to take a deposit now (for a virtual Dealer queue slot) ie he could not process your order as they are not officially live to order yet.
