It's a great car so far. Fixed some little issues I never noticed when i bought it and now looking forward to develop it into something... MINE

Very nice car. Thanks for sharing with us. :) x

So far:

Had to sort out issues with the alternator pulley.
Got it fully serviced.
Replaced all bulbs in the headlamps with Osram Nightbreaker Plus/had to be them, as I always use them :))
And got time for some fly eyes:

Here's some more work done.

I don't like shiny stuff in my cars, so pretty fast I made a decision to wrap the door and dash trims. Door trims are ready. Used matte black vinyl.

I've never heard of that fly-eye stuff, looks a decent way of tinting them without blocking out all the light?

Car is looking good so far though. Liking the matt black vinyl wrap.

Glad you like it :)

fairly cheap mod to do.
wouldn't recommend I for the headlights though, it blocks too much and you wouldn't be happy if you drive mainly during the late hours.

Today I found out the hard way the buzzer for forgotten lights has gone. I was lucky a friend of mine happened to be around at the right time to give me a jump start. Where's the fuse for the lights on warning?

Does the DIS show the drivers door open. Do the interior lights come on when the door is open.
You could have a failed microswitch in the door lock.

No, nothing unusual... all working as it should be.
Only the warning signal is gone.

Can this be disabled with vcds? Wonder if someone has previously disabled the warning buzzer.

Not sure why anyone would want to do such a silly thing, but people are strange.

im afraid I don't know what is vcds.
The buzzer was working.
I had a brake light switch replaced and there was a computer connected to the car to check it over. Could that be connected.

With VCDS you can run outputs test on the dash to see if the buzzer works.
Look in the vagcom section for a member in your area

There's one lad that sell a vcds for 70€... May get it off him, as I like DIY jobs and will use it I believe.

I just realised that when I got the car serviced, the guy out there plugged a... device to the car. He might have knocked the buzzer. Will give him a ring tomorrow.

im prety sure you cant turn the buzzer off with vcds

Anyone who knows where to get one of those covers for batteries?

the cover from audi
or TPS

Nice job with the grill mate - Did you paint it or is it vinyl?

Vinyl.
And finally I got it nearly perfect using a heat gun and a bit of brain :)
I have to do the bottom grill someday.

the cover from audi

I called Audi Naas (the nearest dealer) today and they told me there is no cover for my car. Not that they don't have it, the car was built without one?!? Could that be right?

How to remove this top cover? Wish to wrap it...

Some more pictures and vinyl whoring :)

I'm getting really annoyed with those fat flying ***** just waiting for you to show around the corner and fly straight to you...

haven't remapped the car yet, the guy moved the date then money went for more important things.
i bought a third brake light and soon will repair the rusty patch on the boot lid spoiler.

Theres a mess of fenders/blood on the central top grill... Will wash it today and see if there's anything else.
