Oil low warning, oil is ok

Ive had this before, now oil warning and then when checking the oil level was ok, so i started to ignore the warnings. A few weeks later the warning went on and i went to a garage to check the sensor, but on checking oil it was actually low.

Last week i checked and topped up the oil, but not to the max as my topup bottle was depleated.

Now the oil warning low keeps coming on randomly, but the oils half way between max and minimum.

any ideas?

Anyway to check senser with vcds?
 
Hmm the mind boggles, 2 days ago I had oil today i dont!
Just been out to check, oil is just above minimum and cold.
fault code pulled:

00562 sensore for oil level/temp (g266)
27-10 - implausible signal - intermittent

I dont think it should be on with oil above the min. How does the senser work? where abouts is it?
Theres a lot of oil again at the back of the engine, time to start chasing leaks again.

unfortunatly when doing this you need to drop the oil it doesnt take more than 30 mins thought very easy its located on the bottom of your engine the oil sump and will have a wire coming out of it

this is a picture of a sump the large hole you see is where the sender is located , also i might add is the fact its easy for the wire to come un done it happened to me on a speed ramp. worth a check before you order a new one


check the large oil feed on the bottom of the sump not sure if its the same for dervs
