Does anyone know how to remove the plastic engine cover on the engine?

Pull up and slide forward. You can be pretty aggressive with it they are quite robust

Is the unit not screwed on then?

It looks as though it splits in half aswell

If its never been removed like mine hadn't I managed to snap it in 2 places lol! Front left split the hole thing and at the back right ripped the mount off and left a big hole that you can see the air filter through. Good job I don't need it.
