Hi everyone, I am trying to enable cruise control on my 2006MY A4 B7 3.0TDI. I can not get the engine control module to accept the 11463 login. It just comes back with a warning 'Login code not accepted by controller'. I am using the current version of VCDS. The module is short coded to 0011911. I've read that on 3.0TDI engines cruise needs to be activated by long coding, but mine isn't long coded as far as I know! Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks

have you got the correst swcm

I believe so it's a 8E0 953 549 Q. Have been able to recode this Address 16 no problem, would this affect the login of the engine module? Also I checked the clutch switch and values are changing as you would expect.

are you trying with the engine running ?

Show us a log of the car please.

I don't suppose you would get that error message if cruise is already enabled?

When you open the engine module the engine description will include a letter G if cruise is active, eg 1.8L 5V 110KW TLG V005.

If you're wondering why it's a month old log it's because I've been on this a while and have been speaking to ross-tech and still haven't got to the bottom of the problem. So thought someone here might be able to help

I've tried disabling with login 16167 and still same error

If cruise was already enabled, then what other reason would it not be working? I changed swcm coding from 04001 to 04041 enabling DIS at same time, checked clutch switch operation. Could the cruise stalk not be working? As you have prob seen already it shows: 3.0L V6TDI 000SG 0040 is this the 'G' you mean?

i know how you feel mine failed and i just can not get it to work again

No, the SG isnt the G it will indicate, as RT told me sometime back, its not enabling or it would show G000SG

I would try bypassing clutch/brake switch as sometimes these show working ok but are infact the issue.

Haven't checked the brake switch operation..... I will try bypassing, is it NC or NO? However would this make a difference to entering the login code to the engine module? Anyone have any idea about the coding for my engine module 8E0 910 401 K, mines 0011911, after searching around I've seen others with 3.0TDI and this module coded to 0011111. Anyone know the difference?

Still no luck with this. I checked clutch and brake switch values and the 3 bits change as you would expect.

Anyone know if i can just short circuit across the connectors, if i unplug it, to eliminate the switches as the problem?

Am i correct in thinking that I won't receive any cc stalk signals in the engine module, measuring group 6?

I did try coding to 0011111 and got a fault code to do with a 2nd coolant fan control, so i guess somewhere there's a difference in the specs related to cooling the engine. Obviously not to do with CC.

Anybody have any opinions on whether a stealer might be able to sort this? Or am I just wasting my time.....?

Today i have activated the cruise control! Hurrah!!

So I discovered that to activate the cruise, the module first has to be recoded (I used 0011111 no idea if any other works), this gives the fault code as per my last post.

Now the login code 11463 is accepted by the controller! At this point still no G showing the activated cc.

Recode the module back to original 0011911 and the G shows and fault codes all gone, happy days.

Been for a test drive and cruise works perfectly.

Hope this helps someone else out at some point. I'm now off to report my findings back to Ross-tech....

Hello, excuse me, can you help me? How you do this? Thanks!
