Hi Guys,

I've got an A4 B8 2.0 TDI 143 SE. Had it for a while and I have been recently looking at getting an A5 Quattro, but have decided against and I think it'd rather spend some money on the car as it is!

The car is used daily for work so keeping/increasing fuel economy will be big factor in whatever I change! A few friends had suggested a remap and something like a Milltek exhaust system.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

All the best.

Welcome to the forum.

TBH fella, I would look at a remap 1st, see how you get on, as it can start to become an obsession tbh for more & more power, have some fun with map initially & see if you're thirsty for more.

Whereabouts are you located?

+1 for a remap, it will change your car and it will be more fun, start with a remap and work your way up :)

+2 installed a tuning box on mine 3 weeks ago, what a transformation stick your foot down and its Guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and with the extra torque I can pull away in any gear at almost any speed within reson, 175bhp and 3mpg more on a long run.
best 80 squid I gave ever spent

Cool! I'm located in Hertfordshire, any particularly good companies around here that anyone could recommend?

try it yourself, it is really really easy, buy a tuning box, plug into your common rail, fasten to somewhere safe away from heat, and away you go, if you want more power on mine turn the dial to 100%, or you want more mpg turn it down to 70% tbh more power and more mpg on its default setting is just right for me

I'd be very concerned about spending £80 on tuning box, thats extremely low, who was the supplier?

Cant think of anyone in Hertfordshire atm, check Shark or Revo for dealers.

on a side note 140 mile trip to wolverampton this morning down the m18, m1 and a38 70 to 75 mph managed to get 58.6 mpg which included the odd foot down coming off roundabouts and traffic lights so far 450 miles out of a full tank and still showing I have 200 miles left although that usaly means 125, but anything more than 550 from a full tank I am more than happy with

It seems exceedingly low for a remap as such, but if you're happy then no worries.
