Ive been having problems with my central locking for ages and when I looked at the convenience module in the boot i found it was full of water and was ruined - the water has also filled the space where my spare wheel sits.

I have now changed the convenience module but the water issue is still there but i cannot see anything obvious that is causing it.
Does anyone know of a common fault that could have caused this? Mine is a 3 door 2004 model
thanks

Seals around the rear lights sometimes leak. Have a look around there. Do you have a toe bar?

nope, no bar!

the lights have a little bit of moisture in them so ill take them out and look at the seals. thanks for the quick reply!

Leaking rear washer pipe. Leaks out through the wiper motor but also, if it has been blocked or frozen the pipe joint above the convenience module pops apart ! Stupid place to put a pipe joint !

I had this on mine and to fix it I replaced the wiper motor and instead of popping the joint back together which never works properly, I joined the pipes with a length of smaller diameter pipe and used screw type pipe clips. It's been alright for two years now.

Very common fault and it's surprising you haven't had boot lock problems as well.

I read about the washer pipe but the amount of water is more than you would expect from a washer pipe - surely the water would just be from where i press the rear washer?

The rear wiper works perfectly so i assumed it wasnt that?

What Mike said + 1
.....and once fixed

This time of year a drain my screen wash and replace with neat -9C will help prevent freezing and pipes splitting.

My boot has recently had water ingress, turned out to be the seal around the fuel filler
