I've got a very audible air release/whooshing sort of noise when my car hits peak boost (23psi) from low revs, once I'm giving it some it doesn't overboost and runs around 18psi, I've been told this could be my wastgate not holding pressure, it still has a slight fluctuation in boost pressure aswell, could this be a result of my n75 needing replacing? Thanks

Dv valve is shot if it's whooshing, you won't hear a waste gate .

If the waste gate was faulty you definitely wouldn't hit 23 psi.

I thought dv but got told its more likely that the wastgate isn't holding pressure properly

Hi, I refitted the stock dv, same thing happened, now got a new forge dv and still the same, could it possibly be the n75 going bad, it also still fluctuates between 15 and18psi and you can feel it holding back, only other thing I can think is inlet manifold leaking somewhere, my boost gauge connects from vacuum line on inlet?

Or could it possibly be due to intake temperature which is why it still shows good boost?

i did wonder about intake temps, it definately pulls better before its fully up to temperature, might have to try and clean out my intercoolers, anyone know if this is a difficult job to do? also if i fit a intake temp gauge where would i fit it from and what sort of temp should i be looking to achieve, thanks

you can log intake temp on vag com, had a leak on mine and that was teh "suction jet pump" big plastic valve with nrv's in it at teh back of the inleyt manifold near cyl number 4 neearest bulkhead on top of engine
