Wheels just arrived. Thanks to rhubarb for some serious wrapping ;)

Heres a little snap of them next to the Yoko A048 semi slicks. Hoping to get to the tyre fitters this afternoon.

i was really tempted to buy these as some winter wheels but just couldnt bring myself to run them with how bright they are lol, think they will look mint though for the track.

Are your yokos still road legal? would look epic driving to work on those!

They are "just" road legal but I won't be rocking up to work on them lol. I am swapping my green TRS tow strap for a red one so the car is colour coded :thumbsup:

Sorry bud. As per my poll at the top of my thread I've been toying with the idea of red or green track wheels. I was aiming for green but these just happened to pop up at the right time.

Go for brigh green mate :thumbsup:

florescent green or glow in the dark Plasti dip. :ninja:


I agree with westy on the wheel bags.
Best way to transport wheels.
Easy to carry and stops everything from getting dirty when transporting wheels.

I too have a set of these wheel bags, and they are great.
 
Well, Judgement Day (or Judgement Week in this case) is now apon us! I drop my car off tomorrow at RTech for a week for a custom map to make the most of all my mods. I'm hoping to brake the 300bhp barrier but there are doubts as to whether the Compression Ratio of the BAM pistons will be able to produce the goods. We know that a stock K04 is now capable of flowing enough air for 300bhp as it's been done a few times now. I cant wait to see how the mapping goes over the next week.

We'll see! I'm hoping for westys sake it does make 300bhp.

Niki mapped a small port AUM last week on a ko4 which made 300bhp, 9.5:1 CR.

Westys is the opposite, 9:1 CR but large port head, so I guess we'll soon see what's more important :p CR or large port.

THankfully for me, the AGU has both :laugh:

im aiming to have both too. but more so i dont have to rely on one thing to make good power, like boost for e.g. just enables you to make the power you want with a little less boost to keep temps safe. Its no doubt the best setup to go for for that reason, but i dont think .5 cr will be a MASSIVE factor in performance.
 
It was dropped off this morning and left in the capable hands of Nick and the other RTech lads.

Nick said he'll try to keep me updated throughout the week as they work on it so I'll update this thread when I have some details.
 
Good luck westy. I made 288bhp and 293ftlb at bills the other day. No map changes to my cc stage 2. Relentless mani doing its job very well. I'm sure I could have made 300 had we wanted to. I have now fitted the k04 relentless hybrid and c3 manifold. Just waiting to get it mapped. Good times ahead
 
1st update from Niki at RTech is that the car has just been dyno'd as it is and is currently running 262bhp and 290lbft but there is a missfire at around 4K that they are investigating. I'm thinking it's the 2nd hand TFSI coils I'm running but we'll see what he finds.

spinning wheels between 3rd and 4th in the damp during logging. Thats with stock injectors"

That'll be the budget tyres then lol. I must change them!

Not bad figures so far considering they've not even started the custom map yet! :faint:
 
is it sad that I'm sat here reading that and it's making me grin like a big kid? and it's not even my car!

I remember how excited I felt every day getting updates from Niki on facebook about the progress.

I want some of that torque in my life!
 
No prawn it isnt lol, when i saw the 296bhp figure my face lit up lol, i cant wait to see what this makes, should be amazig to drive afterwards.
