Hi, long time no post!

We have a 1.4tfsi a3 sportback petrol, looking for info on panel filters KnN etc, cost, easy to fit etc etc

Also what are Audi like with them being in the car?

Insurance issue means i HAVE to mod the car LOL

That or may get some tints for it or something.

Have tried search function but nopt found much - having a stupid morning so apologies!

thanks

K&N panel filter, roughley between £30-60, Direct replacement for original, usually 2 screws and a couple of clips, lift old filter out, place new filter in, simple!

Be aware oil from the filter can foul the maf, so if after a few thousand miles performance drops a little first thing would to be clean maf using one of the hundreds of guides on the internet.

The prices are just in general ill have a gander see if i can find one for you, what year of the car?

Sorry mate, I cant seem to find a direct replacement for the 1.4 K&N, Pipercross and green don't list them .

Dont bother with K&N, only one that would maybe be worth a go or to satisfy your curiosity is the green panel filter, but you wont see any difference on that engine as the stock filters have been shown to flow plenty air in & even more so than some aftermarket filters aswell, for me its a waste of £40 for absolutely no gain.

Also I know Manc is fairly hot on tints as known number of members to have to remove there's so beware.

hmmm shame that

The issue i have is the insures insist i do a MOD to the car, filter or something. Suppose the green filter may make a tad more noise? Not overly fussed if it only give 2bhp or not.

any links?

Insurance company tells you to mod your car, now I've heard it all lmfao, think someone was winding you up mate.

So you want to spend money without any gains or aesthetics, cant see your logic tbh but alas your money.

Just search the net you'll find there site easily.

yes adrian flux, i have a modded car multi policy due to my RS being heavily modded, so when adding the Audi on we briefly discussed it as its standard, chatted about tints, exhaust and other things we had planned for it or might do. They put the policy down as modded car and wont cover it at the deal i've got unless modded from OEM even in a small way. So, as intake and stuff was covered as long as i add something im fine.

As its the wifes she wants things doing one min then nothing the next. so it never gets done.

Bulbs they said wont really cover it, tints or something to the engine but im concious of warranty hence a simple panel filter.

Panel filter was just a cheap option.

Surely this isn't that hard to understand?

To be honest id rather spend a few quid than pay a lot more pm with flux.

Thats funny man, not laughing at you, but an insurance company that wont cover a stock car & you have to mod it, it amazes me sometimes what these companies come up with lol.

i know, its because its a modded policy for the RS but as its multi id have to get a sperate stock quote which is dearer lol

so now i need to mod it ha ha

Debating tints, anywhere manchester really good and crucially cheap lol

Ref tints, dont go cheap, you could end up regretting it as some have with peeling & loss of tint as such over a period, do a search on here for tints & read the discussions.

not sure about k&n but DPM performance (dpmperformance.co.uk) do pipercross and BMC filters for that engine
