Hi - tryed to do a search on the site but for some reason none of the thumbnails are showing which is making it hard to follow. We've got a 98 A4 1.9 TDi with nearly 160K on the clock. a couple of times recently it has been a little bit hesitant some times when accelerating, nothing too bad but noticeable all the same. there is plenty of fuel in it. This morning, it has cut out twice after being started, and the sorted itself out and seems to be running ok.Any ideas what the issue may be?Many thanks, Jamie

Try blanking off the egr valve to rule it out on that sort of milage it may be heavilly clogged up.

will give that a shot, thanks. Is it relatively easy to do and woudl you able to blank it off long term?

yeah.
Just shove a sheet of metal cut to size, drill two holes and put it between the EGR and or pipe.
It will stop the exhaust gasses from going back in to the engine.

Mines been blanked off for about 25k with no issues.
