Vibration from Front Right Wheel on a Left Turn! Driving me mad! Please Help...

Hi all,

Can anyone help to diagnose this fault!!? Been to two garages and an Audi main dealer, still no joy.

When I turn left at ~20MPH+ I get a loud vibration/knocking from the right front wheel. Sounds rotational, and non-metallic.

Also doenst happen when turning right or straight!?

Checked wheel arch liner and nothing is touching the wheel on left or right locks. Also there is no play in the wheel to suggest bearings.

Thought it could be something to do with the anti-roll bar, as it happens on corners when there is a slight roll on the car.

Seriously this is driving me mad and im not able to enjoy driving.

Anyone experianced similar or can think of what it could be?

Car is A3 Sline Quatrro TDI170, 57 plate, 3dr, 18" aftermarket wheels, eibach prokit suspension (happened also before this was fitted).

Gutted!

Replaced front off side drive shaft which includes cv joint, but still vibrating from the right wheel on left turns ???!

Any techies out there that can help to diagnose??

i woulda put it down to the drive shaft is your car quattro, unlikely but could be vibration though the propshaft may be worth trying it off
 
Wheel bearing?

Jack the car up and feel the suspect wheel for play up and down and side to side.

Get someone to watch from underneath and see where the slop is if any.
 
he did say there is no play in them though probably worth another check

have you tried swapping wheels over ? , also just had some work done on car and the engine mount was moved slightly which caused a knocking noise when turning left . hope you get it sorted fella
 
Update... Swapped the front wheel for the spare and it still makes the vibration sound!! ***
 
dont suppose you can record the noise with anything ? ie phone and upload it onto here ? nothing loose in engine bay ?
 
Fixed! Cause was the engine mounts, new ones fitted today and she drives like a dream! ahhhhhhh.
 
I think I have the same problem by its only when I turn right , what mounts did you change ?
