I dont believe it

I picked this car due to the low emissions and the 13% BIK tax bracket. Coming from a £ 19.6K golf which is currently in the 22% tax bracket I was going to save about £ 45 a month in going for the Audi which is a far better car, more desirable, economical and cost another 6K or so over the golf.

Just checked the Audi website and they now list this car with 17% BIK as cameron "the robbin b&&&stard" and his band of merry men who rob from the poor and give to the rich has shuffled the bandings. I now find that this car will cost me just as much a month in tax as the golf. Not the end of the world but can you imagine if you had just got your first company car and had run the Audi for 12 months for the govt then to deduct £ 45 a month extra is tax ! Thats a fairly hefty pay rise at 40% tax which you have to get just to come out with the same money every month. About an extra grand from what I calculate.

After months of following this thread I've decided to post. I ordered a 170 s-tronic for my first comp car in September 2011. I started reading post and thought I might have to wait until March for the car. Ive been told to expect it early June. I don't understand why it's taken so long. I spoke to a random person who I saw I'm McDonald's in Milton Keynes yesterday drivinga white 140 BE. She said she got it within 10 days of walking into the dealership!!!

Is it a 140 thing or are the 170's having the same wait ? 3 doors & 5 doors ?
They seem to be taking the pi*s out of the company car drivers more so than private buyers or so it seems :motz:
Could it be a paint thing or specific options ?
 
It does appear that fleet buyers seem to be waiting longer, probably due to the fleet smashing them for higher discounts. But I have to say Brazz284, that is Audi taking the complete and utter pee pee !

Just read your post on the tax %. Im going from an A4, so should still save, but it was one of my main factors for buying this one.

There is a black be that goes in Tesco Greenfield. Bit sad I know, but I took a picture of it, just to remind me of what I ordered!!

Ps The twins look very nice, oh well, think of the tax we'll save!! Sorry sore point!!
 
Oh dear. And here I am at the brink of ordering a Sportback 2.0tdi 170 BE S-tronic with a few extras.. Horrific wait ahead? Or should I get a basic A5?... Ahhh!
 
I don't think it would be that bad to be honest now. They must want to get them through and sorted quickly before the new one starts to come out. I know the sportback isn't changing for a while but I think the wait cannot be as bad as some have had on here.

Thanks for the welcome. It's been interesting over the last few months seeing some people being lucky and others like me waiting an eternity for what is after all not a high end car. Does being a personal buyer make a difference?

Blimey your company is clearly very generous. You guys don't seem to have done too badly in the waiting game. I'll speak to my fleet manager and find out if he's got the access details.

Guys My wait is finally over. The BE arrived on on Monday afternoon. I drove it 150 miles from head office, a great drive. Hey those DRL's are fantastic in getting those slow drivers out of the way!

Thanks m8. I know how you feel, it comes around fast.

Ive had mine nearly a week now am loving it. I read on this forum some time ago that the BE was a hard ride and not comfy. I was expecting a harsh ride similar to the wifes Civic Type R where you feel every road bump. Glad to say it's nothing of the sort. The BE drives like a big Audi, I'm loving it.

Mine's 2 months and 3 days old old - and those 2 months of owning it have more than made up for the 7 months of waiting for it.

It's not sad at all the car looks ****** great and if it drives as good as it looks youll love. I get mine next Monday and I'm like a kid in the run up to Xmas.
 
Ok latest update. Spoke to bolton audi today. Its been built and on the boat!!! Will dock this weekend, and should be with them w/c 11th June. Typical the Jubilee will slow things down. Been busy shopping with Juicy Detailing ready for the arrival
