We received a phone call from guy who had his Black Audi A4 B7 2.0TDI washed/valeted by one of the CHEAP AND NASTY roadside hand car wash places in preparation for a wedding him and his family were attending at the weekend. I asked the guy for a breif desciption of the condition of the paint damage, in a word he said the panels are F...ed and all have heavy swirl's.. He carried onto ask if we could come over and sort out the damage.

Amazing difference, that was a lot of damage, mix of automated car wash and dodgy hand washing I'm guessing.

Also, good to see the collection of random timber and stuff suspended from the roof, proper bloke garage :)

Lovely job. Bet the bloke was well happy with the end result. Hope the bride turned up lol.

Just out of interest, what is the cost of that sort of service?

All our prices are on our web site, price do not inc travel..

The owner Darren told us all the swirls and scatches were done by the guys at the Hand Car Wash premises

He did complain but he had no joy. Any time you are ready mate give us the nod. I know your paint very well by now lol so not to much of a challenge for us..

Very true Fran but folk's will not listern and think they are getting value for money when they hand over £5 to these roadside clowns.. Myself and Grant are very pleased with the level of correction in only 10.5 hours. Darren the owner was happy also..

lol tell me about it mate so much to do so little time lol , i just got me some dodo juice supernatural so gunna give my car a dam good going over before inters

thanks for the comments guys and gals, this was the worst paint i have come across, it alsoi had lots of smudge marks which can only be described as looking and feeling like rubber paste which was all over the car, and the damage from the local car hand wash was shocking. they must of had a large piece of grit on a cloth to induce some scratches.

eventually gettin home from the job at 3am you could say me and col were tired, oh well up at 7am onto the next job lol

These are the mark's that Grant and I found after 2 snow foam combi washes.. We had to use Tardis to shift near on 10+ mark's just like these..

weird marks they are , did the owner go back to that cowboy place and have a go at them at all i would be kicking down doors and stuff if they did that to my baby (but then again i would never even dream of taking my car to a place like that as i know what they do)

The owner(Darren) tried to kick up a fuss but was made to feel very uncomfortable shall we say.

oh right i understand mate , P take tho they shouldnt be aloud to trade if they do that sort of damage , should go to the ferret or trading standards i would

Thats what we said, we have the photo's if he want's to pursue the matter.

At the end of the day this a stark warning to all those folk that don't or can't be bothered to wash there own car's they will all end up scratched or even damaged in a very short time as these road side crap wash places are there to make money quick... I hope the owner will learn from this.

Show me a good car shampoo and wash mitt for £5-£10.. These 2 bob joint's will not treat your car with any sort of respect as the guys/clown's doing the washing are on a stupid low wag and don't give a damn if you have a Roller or kia.

My cab is due a service soon, main dealer, and I'm in two minds about asking them not to wash it. Last time it went in they jet washed the roof and was all banded where the pressure or distance was different.

Still it's better than the guy I saw washing a load of peugeots today, hosepipe and a nylon sweeping brush.......amazing, main dealer to.

Sorry to resurrect a really old thread but I just wanted to comment and say how impressed I am at those results, there's no better ad for your work than that job, the paintwork on that car was absolutely battered.

To be honest when I saw the initial shots I thought that there was no way anyone could get them out, it looks like it was done with keys!

If ever I decide to treat myself to a detail you guys will definitely be on my list to talk to!

Likewise, only just seen this as it has bumped back up the thread list. What a turnaround and what a state to begin with! Great work.

Old i know..but anyway..

Most main dealers have sub contracted valeters, who are often in no way trained. I know this as ive worked at 2, we regularly get new guys in, who i refuse to believe are trained in anyway shape or form.
Watching them jet wash the chamois on the floor, then turn it over and do the other side always makes me cringe.

They have just started using a brush. Cant be any worse than the sponge i guess.

Awesome work guys. Ive never really got to grips with machine polishing. Ive done it, and it looked better, but wasnt anywhere near that kind of improvement. Our paint / body guy is going to do a flat and polish for me soon. If it comes out half as good as yours, ill be happy.
Having owned 2 cars ive had painted, im not easily impressed with old paint work.

thanks for the comments lads, our customers car was in a really bad state and i would urge fellow enthusiasts and other owners never to take their car to the local £5 wash and wax as this is what happens, unfortunately a lot of the people who drive cars today have no idea what is going on with their cars paint work, thats why i try to educate who ever wants to know about proper wash routine and techniques.

the B7 was a challenge but we and the customer were very pleased how it turned out

Blimey, pics like that really make me hate these car wash places. Incredible work there guys!
Cheers S3-Eric that A4 was in real need of our services.. Customer was over the moon .
