Original Audi number plate LED's that fit the A3 8P - plug & play!

Who will be the first to see if these work? Unfortunately I can't get to Audi until tomorrow.

Good find, I will watch with interest on this one. It's one of the last LED conversions I need to do to mine
 
My local dealer just told me that they are OEM A8 fit, £9.80 +VAT each but not available to order until the end of March which erm is tomorrow !!

Might try again later in the week but good find :icon_thumright:
 
Keep us informed! I think my Polargs are melting the housings..

I've ordered a set, but I suspect they might be a little dim compared to the aftermarket ones.
 
Don't think they work in MY11 onwards either though, from what I've read.

3dr and sb are the same you can get these no problem mine should arrive today due to the snow i wont be fitting till tomorrow i have the 09 ce unit so that covers up to my11 if they work in my car
 
Hey P5SND, just to make sure i understand correctly, will these lights work in the 58 onwards facelift models? Mine is a 60 reg - october 2010 model, and was thinking of getting a set, but wasn't sure if they were for pre facelift models only.

it would depend on your ce unit do you have access to vacom? i dont even know if they will work in mine yet ^^ will let you know as soon as though

thanks Mate, i havent a clue on my ce unit unfortunately! and no Vag access either :( i'll just keep my eyes out for this thread and see how things develop and go from there! :)

oem LEDs would be nice, i always feel a little safer putting them in as opposed to aftermarket stuff, even if they arent quite as bright.
 
I tried to order these Audi declined the order from tps! Took them till now to tell me
 
Very interested to find out whether these fit the my12 sb.
 
I've asked Dave in the Stoke Audi section if he can get hold of them - so keep an eye on the thread.

From the link in post #1 it looks like you need one of each of the above otherwise with two the same one will be shining on the plate and the other facing opposite.

You are referring to 4H0 943 021 & 022 which are only fitted on A5 cabr. 2012 onwards

I am referring to 4G0 943 021 which fits both sides and is fitted on A1, A4, A5, A6, A7, Q3, TT, RS5, mainly 2010 onwards but some 2011, 2012 and 2013 onwards.

I assume that the fitting is symetrical and can be fitted either way round.
 
mike the - A1, A4, A5, A6, A7, Q3, TT, RS5 have a differant lamp unit to the A3's. i have been getting these ones for a while but they wont fit the A3/a5 cab/q7 as they are the ones that just clip off, no screws, they also require an adaptor loom which i also have.

these ones are new to me but i have a feeling they wont work in the A3 8p3, i get the same problems on a a1 thats fitted with the halogen plate lamps, when you put the led bulb in an error is thrown up, same with the OEM audi units in the A1.

As a few have mentioned it could be all down to some sort of coding.

Sorry mate - was originally responding to part numbers for A5 cabrio 2012 onwards which, according to post #13 fit the '06 sportback.

Too confusing for me !!!
 
oh right,

the a5 cab have the same units as the A3 and will fit as they are the ones in the OP.

the others listed use a differant type of holder and have been out for about a year now.

i am sure they wont work in the 8p3 but i think its a case of waiting for someone to try, the canbus in the 2011+ a5 is not like the 8p3, i have sold many led bulbs to the cab owners and they work error free. its just the A3 and A1 that have problems.

Haha got a lot planned for the interior my build thread is over on vagoc never really did one here how is your car getting on
 
what are the differences in the a1 lamps anyone got a photo of em, i hate the design of the a3 ones, i have to seal mine with vaseline etc to stop any moisture getting in

the link for vagoc is VAGOC.co.uk - The Volkswagen Audi Group Owners Club its mainly ttrs based but there is some good info on there, doesnt quite have the same knowlage base electronic wise as here but in terms of the powertrain a lot of stuff there s3 dan is on the jonnyc a lt of bigger engine builds
