Hello Peeps!

How we all doin! Im pretty certain that my next company car is going to be an Audi now, after a Accord, which i loved to bits for 3 years, I fancy something different, and as I have a baby on the way, its time to get sensible and go for an Avant.

Im looking at the A4 Avant 163 SE Technik. Problem is that being a company car, the options go back with the car at the end of the term, so im wasting money in some ways! but i have set aside a small budget for the extras, so far im thinking of going with the Technology pack High,Lighting pack, Sports seats with alcantara, 3 spoke wheel and the sound package. I think with all that I get some nice touches, but is there anything else worth popping on the list? Ive gone for those options as I cant easily add them myself.

I plan to mod the car myself with xenons and led lamps, as I aint paying £1200 for them!

So what do you think?

The Dynamik adds a lot of extras, but my top list was sat nav, Bluetooth, iPod, leather

problem is i like all the options bar the sat nav.I use a tom for the rare occasions i go somewhere i dont know.Is the satnav easily updatable like a tom tom?

MMI low is updateable by purchasing a replacement DVD at approx £200 plus it has to be dealer installed, MMI high is again done at the dealers, they update the system via a master SD card.

Check what is involved in retro fitting xenons and LEDs it can be as expensive as ordering new, self levelling, washers etc.

As the technik comes with leather I would recommend heated seats.

S-line just costs too much on the scheme, again the same with xenons, nigh on £700 for something i dont see or touch, my view was that i spend the money on the stuff I physically interact with, ie the radio and interior.

Ive decided to opt for the leather alcantara option for the seats, which means I wont need heated seats, and in all honesty I really dont like leather seats, much prefer half leather.

I hate choosing new cars, just too much choice and too many what iffs on the options lists means that i end up spending far too much, on essentially a rental car lol!

In that case, xenons all the way.You dont want candles

Our fleet manager tried to push me to get a technik as some of my options came with it. Leather, AMI, Satnav, but it just didn't have the same prowess as the Sline for me. And Xenons, you interact with them every time you drive in the dark. I'm still amazed that they light up the road as well as they do. Different world. I would never go back to normal headlights now.

Tbh, I find the a4 has a slightly fidgety ride as standard, so I dont really want the skinny tyres that come with the S-line. Im going to phone lex today to see if they can do a deal on the xenons, its does mean that im gonna have to go for ordinary flat black instead of lava grey though :(

I think im getting old, but i like a touch of ride comfort in my daily motorway motor! Ive got a MX5 track toy anyway!

Hmmmm think the xenons are top of the list now, Ive just seen them on a facelift twinkling away. Plus I can get the adaptive setup for an additional £20 a month over 4 years, thats not bad at all me thinks!

Pretty much decided now, specs as follows

A4 Avant SE Technik TDIe 163 in brilliant black.
Adaptive Lights
Alcantara/Leather sport seats
Interior Light pack
Sound Pack
Tech Pack High
Storage Pack

Aside from the S-line bodykit, and maybe a different colour, thats pretty much the perfect A4 Avant for me.

And best of all........£200 quid a month including me fuel!
