Hello all, the goddamn yellow engine light is on; has been on for about 2 weeks, but car is running fine, am sure its just a glitch.... is there any way I can reset this without resorting to putting the car on a VAG computer thing?

Any advice gratefully received

You know the engine light comes on for a reason !! Why on earth would you want to reset it with out finding out what's wrong.
It's more than lightly a failed sensor.

If you are near me I can help. TW1 Twickenham...I have a plug in reader. Let me know.

Thanks mate, I appreciate your good intentions, unfortunately I am by Chester.

It went off for about 5 days, has come back this morning

Hello I have the same problem yellow engine light on, 3.0 tdi A4, only owned it for a few weeks. I noticed it was on today, been fine other wise, any ideas what yours was????

the 3.0 diesels have a problem with swirl flap motors that are built into the inlet manifolds.
Expensive fix, it realy is best to have a fault scan to find out what the problem is....l

If you are near Chester, I'd recommend Central VW / Audi. See Simon or Peter and they'll sort you out. Best get it scanned to find the fault code etc.

got a fiver on it being the throttle body.

I will take it to central as I had it serviced there. My mate has a 3.0 TDI he says its something in the inlet manifold too.... aOh, and its expensive, like £1K job.... Great.

Anyone want to buy an 07 3.0 TDI le Mans? lovely car but has a yellow light on.

its a throttle body but not a throttle body. it looks exactly the same as a throttle body, but its more of a shut off flap but it has a motor and position sensor etc in it.
the plastic cogs in them wear out, the're crap. fitted one on a q7 last week 07 plate with 80k on it, the second one we have fitted. first one was two years ago. £300odd for a new one. only takes 15 mins to fit and do the basic setting on it tho.

Didn't know you could get the motor on its own, thought you had to buy the minfold...

Well I like a throttle body but I also like the one that's more of a shut-off flap, I wonder which is best?

Going to Central this afternoon for diagnosis - fingers crossed

Well, I think 'Kite' is most likely correct, its the same problem as on my mates Q7 3.0 TDI and is a common problem,
Fault Code: 'INT MAN B2 LOWER LIMIT NOT REACHED' which is something to do with a motorised flap and the plastic bits associated with it, I wasn't quite sure what he said, my ears had stopped listening, my eyes glazed over, there was a roaring noise and my head started to pound.... around £1,400 for this little job - parts are £500 to £600 PER SIDE.

I am gutted; you used to be able to get a replacement engine for this money.

Anyone know a way of working around this problem?

Hello I have an Audi A6 3.0 TDI quttro 2005. I change the throttle body but my engine light is still on. On my computer I have a mistake p3243 - 002 - Electrical Malfunction. Please tell me what I need to do to clear that code.
