As Nigel quite rightly acknowledged i've been hiding, I took another break from Audi ownership and ASN for a bit (albeit only for about 4 months or so). I sold the 8P S3 in March for a variety of reasons, mainly I didn't like having £30k tied up sitting on my driveway and the car not exciting me enough for that kind of money. It was a cracking car and there are certainly some elements I miss about it, 4WD being one of them.

Since then i've dabbled with an XJR, which was a monster, but went round bends like a house on castors. I picked up a nice little Mk1 MX-5 which (whilst i'm not expecting everybody to agree) is great fun to drive, but I also wanted something else for the crap weather and long journeys. So I kept my eye out for another Audi, I nearly went for a B6 S4 but in the end (and after a few beers) decided to have a go on eBay. I ended up with this....

67K miles, late 2001, owner had it from brand new, FSH etc. I couldn't believe it to be honest, I was expecting ti to be a bit more ropey around the edges, but (fingers crossed) it seems ok for the £4,500 I paid for it.

And for those of you interested, here's my weekend car that i've been tinkering with. Added some Rota RB wheels, stainless cat back and a cracking Focal/JL install. I plan on adding some more oomph with some FI but not sure whether to go SC or turbo yet, watch this space.

nice, looks like a good buy that!

makes my bum flap a bit about how much mines worth now though :sorry:

It does appear that you have managed to get yourself a bargain there.....but I'm sure you lost out quite a bit on your newer model.

I hope you done all the necessary checks prior to buying.....yes I know that's an obviously stupid thing to ask, but....it has to be said.
1. check previous mot/mileage readings with vosa
2. check history with dealer matches records
3. hpi , etc checks

oops, forgot to mention I'm liking the Mazda, could do with some matching chrome wing mirros.......to match the chrome on the alloy - I would say that !

I certainly lost a few bob on the last S3, but it wasn't even a year old so decided to get shot before losing too much more.

All the mileage checks done, Audi confirmed all the service history and it's all backed by invoices for each service, all old MOTs and even every single tax disc (not that they prove milage of course). I do an HPI check on any car I buy these days, you'd be surprised how many don't check out or the seller isn't being completely honest on the advert with things.

I like the little Mazda, it's not fast but it's so balanced through the corners it's unreal, puts a huge grin on my face every time I take it out for good blast through the country roads on a nice summer evening, can't beat it really for the money they cost.

Looks like an awesome buy for the money mate! :O I'm jealous haha!
