Backdraft do a good fanimold mate! About 400 I think!!

have you been getting my txts dude?!?? :(

Quattro1, you got your 28rs on yet mate?? Have you upgraded the turbo mani? If so, where did you get it? You going to do rods at any stage? IE I hope :)... Have you got a front-mount, if so which one and did you have to change the crashbar?

About the downpipe, a 3" can be quite difficult to fit on our cars, as the prop shaft and other bits get in the way.. My 2.5" is like 2-3mm away from the prop shaft and I bet you it slaps against it when the car is labouring. Apparently, 2.5 is plenty, even for larger turbos.

Chris, let me know when you're thinking of getting frontmount/mani and other bits done, be good to get some discount going..

hey mate not yet due to going through 2 sumps in a week and now finding out the head gaskets gone on my black a3 :( so selling that to fund bits and bobs to finally get this turbo on!

yep changing the rods a month or so after the turbo goes on, using a forge FMIC (check a few pages back and theres a comparison pic between new and old fmic) and ive removed the crash bar because IMO it just got in the way anyway! looks so weak and flimsy!
no i wont be changing the manifold as these k03 mani's flow pretty well as they are! plenty for what my turbo needs to max out anyway!

yeah ive seen a few people on the tt forums saying a 3" is abit overkill but i dunno id just prefer the thought of having a 3" just incase i fancy more power - bigger turbo somewhere down the line so i dont have to splash out on another downpipe!! lol

chris - will txt you shortly mate! think my phones playing up as im not getting pm's or anything on here either!

Got to ask mate, why aren't you getting the rods done at the same time as all the turbo work is being done?

3" all the way! If it'll fit, fit it.

PM me on here or text me mate, as I need to get them gone in the next 10 days, to fund alcohol in Ibiza!

Mate doesn't that mean your airbags won't deploy??

Get IE rods. They are £245 and stress-tested to over 500whp. Best around for the 1.8T :)

Let me know if you guys are anywhere near me sometime (North London), be good to meet up.

wont need a manifold on the k03s reesey boy as the standard manifold flows great unlike the k04 manifold

Thanks a lot mate, at least that's one less thing to buy! Progress has been slow on the car, and will be for a few weeks as I'm off to Ibiza next week and all my money is going on that. Plus, the service indicator has come on on the car, so that puts the mods back for another week or 2 :sob:

do the service yorself m8 save a few pennies im sure there is a lil trick you can do with the stalk on the right hand side to reset the service light.

the exhaust may have to be set back from next month as ive still not got the suspension sorted yet.
hopefully getting rear tie arms and lcr topmounts and bearings next saturday
will do the n249 delete next satday and clean throttle body and re align.

just got the code for my vcds last night so can start sorting a few things out as i have a engine management light up for dv check along with N249 and throttle body clean and realign

where in ibiza you going m8.

go space if you get chance best club i went to when i went there iirc its near the airport

The cars got full Audi/Audi specialist history, so I want to keep it that way really.. I don't know why, as I plan on keeping it for another year or so, and it won't be worth much by then but the last two cars I've had have had s**t history and been a pain in the *** to flog on.

Exhaust next month sounds better to me anyway, as I'm starting a new job with better money, so I'll be getting that and the FMIC done, as soon as it's been serviced.

Going to some 4* hotel in San Antonio Bay, Ibiza wasn't my first choice but it should be a laugh with the group of us that are going. This time next week I'll be chilling by the pool and getting in the mood to see David Guetta!!

Cleaned the TB on my corsa's before, how easy are they to do on these?

jammy bast**d lol wish i was going.

not to hard by the looks of it disconnect battery take the inlet pipe off undo the 4 torx bits that hold the throttle body on then take off the body give a good clean dont move the plenum in the body (butterfly bit) replace gasket if you want its onlt £2 from audi so well worth it then re-install reconect battery turn the key so all lights are showing on dash leave for a min or two then fire the car up all done.

you should hear the body re aligning when you turn the key to ignition on not all the way over can leave the intake pipe off and watch the body flicker as it aligns itself to make sure it doing it.

Sounds like a bit of a ball ache if I'm honest.. Might have a look at doing it if I get time but a pic to see how dirty your TB is would be great. How many miles has yours done then mate?

yeh will get some pics up as a guide if all goes well lol 67k mine has done.

Sounds like you have it all mapped out, which is the way to do it.

Mine goes something like this:

Full service incl Haldex + Gearbox Oil 2/3 weeks
Fuel
FMIC 4/6 Weeks
Fuel
Forge TIP 4/6 weeks
More Fuel
Fuel
Exhaust - whenever we're all ready to get one
Pair of Rear Tyres
Shocks + Springs
Everything needed for hybrid turbo

What mods to R-Tech class as being enough for a stage 2? As with a FMIC/exhaust/forge TIP I won't be far off..

My list doesn't seem too bad, and it's a damn site less then what it was, as in the last 2 months I've had:

Wheel bearing/CV gaitor/track rod end changed
312mm brakes + braided lines done
S3 spoiler sprayed + fitted
ABT grill fitted
2 new tyres
Red dog bone bush
Bought VCDS and got rid of steering angle sensor light

And that's just what I can remember!! Also, got to add the LCR splitter to my list, lots of people have them, but that's because they look the mutts nuts

I remember when my list was that long :)

mine is now.

FMIC next week
LCR splitter next week
Stage 2 2 weeks
Refurb S3 wheels and fit track rummer
Fit Brembo 4 pots.

getting there.

o im sure i could drag them fitting brembo's out for ya m8 so you dont feel left out with a small list to finish lol
will probs get reply off bro 2nite some time

I fyou do mate that would be great. Also is it a job he could do himself off the books and I can just wire him some money direct to him or you?

yeh it should be a job for off the books he is my personal mechanic feed him chocolate and he happy lmao

What else do you need to fit those brakes to the S3 mate?

They use the standard 312mm discs so all I need is a set of carriers which are £100 from creation motorsport, then a set of Ferrodo DS2500 which are £125, oh and some new braided hoses from Bill for £50.

I'm hoping to make some money back by selling my S3 carriers and calipers and braided hoses.

no worries gotta get your porsche ones done first m8 on another point how did you change your name had alook on my profile carnt find anything to change it

Shame I just got the S3 bits done, as I wouldn't mind having some Porsche brakes myself
