They should fit, I'm not familiar with the difference between golf4 platform and golf5 platform in terms of braking, but 312mm carriers are the same accross the range I would have though?
Just to let you know, I got my 312mm carriers off my S3 to fit my B5 Passat, so my Passat is running 312mm brakes now, I just needed to buy brake disks and pads.

Thanks for response. I’m not sure about them mk5 ones. I have been trying to get hold 312mm carriers for ages but can’t find them any ware! so looking to just buy the whole 312mm kit and replace calipers carriers brake disks and pads thinking that would be best

There's loads about, you just need to look in the right place, try UK-MKIVs or Edition38 forums, you need to be a member to view. I purchased some brand spanking new last year with new seals and sliders off ebay for £125 posted, sold them to another member for £80 not too long ago, unused.
