The wife is just about to go into hospital to give birth to our second child, I have been given control of the shopping and meal making for the next few weeks. I have not a clue what to get and what to make, I also have a 4 year old daughter to feed. Any suggestion on what I should be buying and making, real call for help this one. Perhaps some receipe ideas?

Keep it simple mate.....

Go to Ikea and get some meatballs. Go to tescos and get some twisty pasta, some Bertolli pasta sauce and some garlic bread.

Also, chicken breast fillets and chicken tonight.

Also, jacket potatoes, cheese and beans.

Also, tinned mackerel/tuna in a tomato sauce.

Also, oven chips and chicken nuggets.

A few happy meals and normal meals from McD's.

Also, Dolmio spag bol.

Repeat all that in week two, and you have grub for a fortnight.

PS: Congrats on the soon to be new kid!

Cant go wrong with omelets mate! nice, easy & healthy. Plus u can stick almost anything in them.

After being a dad for 4 years you should really know how to feed her by now..

just look up recipes by Anabel Karmel fella... she's a legend when it comes to good nutritious food for all the family, she also has a book out for weening your new carpet commando ;) Gina ford has a good weening book also with a good week by week plan and some really tasty
recipes which are really easy to follow too. Get some ingredients down on paper make your meals one day in advance or even make the weeks meals on Sunday and freeze until required that way your always ahead cos you'll have the rest of the running around to be doing also i guess ??

failing that see if jojo will do you a discount on a weeks meal deals:icon_thumright:

Dunno about Gina Ford's recipes but her daily routine saved my bacon! I was almost dying of sleep deprivation before we got her book.

Haha know what you mean. Good food for the kind growth though so worth the read.

Try corned beef hash well nice and easy to make and a 4 yr old will luv it .... I loved it when i was a kid and still do now lol

Peel the potatoes, boil and then mash them with some milk and butter
slice the cornbeef
place half the mash into the oven proof dish to cover the base, place the corn beef over the top then add the rest of the mash over the top. grate the cheese over the top and place in oven on 180c for approx 20mins
