disc and pad suppliers?

hello all! decided to delay the rs4 upgrade need discs now and cant afford rs4's! going for another set of discs and pads, looking at brembo discs at £120 odd and pads at £106...
been told EBC are to be kept clear of? any opinions?
maybe just stick we stealer discs?

any advice?
 
I'd stick with genuine ones, personally. A mate had a faceflit S4 and I tried some pads from GSF, they were lucas/TRW ones but were a slightly different type and didn't fit. Can't remeber the difference, I'd have to look on ETKA. They couldn't supply the right ones, so we went genuine.
 
Ferrodo make the pads for Audi, so if you find a motorfactor that sell them they should be cheaper than the oe which will be identical but have an audi box.
make sure their the FDB range tho not the FSL as their the cheaper version.
 
Motorfactor discs and good quality pads mate. Mintex 1155's, EBC Yellows are supposed to be quite good but I've hada lot of bad experience with Greens so wouldn't buy their kit again
 
I presume you have an S4?

For the disks just buy standard ones from your local motorfactors.

Pads for the S4 are tricky, there are two different styles depending if the car is pre or post facelift, which makes buying aftermarket pads a bit difficult. A lot of companies only offer one of the two styles, and if you buy the wrong ones they wont fit. Personally, i'd just put some standard mintex or ferodo pads in there to keep the cost down given you want to upgrade at some point in the future.
 
Thanks lads! Would have gone genuine but with being in Shetland the dealers not an easy option. I did phone to ask, discs were £76 each can't remember the price of pads...
Ended up getting pads from the disc supplier! Can't remember the make but they were £50 odd quid, hopefully haven't invested in dearer discs instead of dearer pads, struggled finding pads that were described in enough detail to 'know' they'd fit?
She got mintex pads not long ago but the discs are knackered, I didn't think I'd get away with refitting them with new discs?
