Anyone brought VAG COM off ebay? do they work and is there a specific version i need?

If you search for it on ebay there selling disks and leads for under £20
 
Waste of money. The software will not be updated and its probable that a lot of the facilities will not be accessible anyway..
 
Nige is your man (NHN) hes a "proper" seller of Vagcom... nowhere near £20 though!

yeah i know its £200+ and i dont have that at the mo with all the other mods im paying for :(

You need to get you priorities sorted. No good having the latest front bumper if your car doesn't go and a lead will pay for its self within a couple of fault code diagnosis and clearances..........unless you would rather just pay Audi £150/hour to do it for you.
 
You could always find someone close by with vagcom to scan or code something for you.

I am always willing to vagcom cars for other members.
 
i got version 8 of vag com had it for over 6 months with no probelms but you cant update it or it will stop working...

i am thinking of selling it and getting a newer version...

Jeeez you lot !! You have sigs with £000's of mods and you will not splash out a couple of hundred quid for probably the best addition to your toolbox you will ever make. daft thing is you will all buy the proper thing in the end once you are ****** off with the cheap copies.
