hi guys hope someone could point me towards the right direction on here, my car which is a audi a4 1.9tdi 130bhp 52 plate, everytime it rains or whenever i wash my car, the car seems to be very sluggish, for example when i drive and put my full foot down on the gas pedal it could take upto around 5 seconds for the car to respond, and in 1st gear it wants more gas than usual to get it goin.

anyone got any idea what the problem might be its been couple of months i changed my maf sensor and i think its called a map sensor (boost control sensor) the car has had a service done around 6 months ago

any help would be appriciated.

cheers

the solenoid valve behind the o/s headlight that controls the EGR valve gets drowned in water and causes the hesitation your experiencing.. you may be able to get at it when your cars running well, i.e when its dry, and cover it up with something

thank you for that info could you please tell me where abouts that is, and what exactley do i need to do, thank you once again

heres a pic of it, its buried down behind the o/s headlight, you should be able to see it

ill take another picture of mine in situ tonight

sorry, my camera had died..i would try to get in there with my phone to take a pic but it would mean dismantling the air intake..its under there though, just go have a look :)

on my tdi its very easy to get at its just behind the drivers headlight

thanks for the help guys, i will give it a go this weekend, so once i get to it what exactly do i need to do?

If there was a problem with it would it show up in VCDS?

when you get the new one just pull the pips of the old one and unclip it but make sure you put the pips on the new one in the same order as your old one
