Hi all,

I've bought a pioneer aftermarket headunit after my concert tape/cassette broke.

When I first wired it up using the standard adaptor the headunit comes with it work but only on the front speakers, well, all front speakers except the right one in the driver's footwell...the rears had no sound at all. Everything else worked fine it turned off and on with the ignition as its non-canbus and it remembered all the radio presets etc even where I last played to the second on my usb stick.

After some research I discovered I needed a PC9-404 adaptor to get all the speakers working which has arrived today but I'm having trouble wiring it up correctly as I'm a bit clueless as to where some of the wires are supposed to go. I wired it up the way I though was right but I still had the speaker problems.

Here are some pics:

Can someone advise me on how I'm supposed to wire this up? I've been researching fitting an aftermarket headunit for the past week any chance I can get and can't seem to find a straight forward answer anywhere.

Help please?, I've tried to wire it lots of different ways but still not getting any sound from the rear speakers?

Lol at the 45 minute bump.

Is the wire that came with the headunit got a female side on the end that doesnt plug into the HU?

Lol, sorry about bumping the thread so quickly just very impatient and this problem with the speakers is really starting to bug me.

Yes the wire that came with the headunit has a 2 female slots(pic 3) that convert into one male plug that goes into the back of the headunit.

Are the two phono sockets on the HU for rear outs? If so then connect the HU wire, and slot the adaptor into the HU cable. Attach the two phono sockets to the adaptor's phono plugs, and then plug the end of the adaptor into your Audi's plugs.

Can't which goes where but the two brown and black smaller plug can only go in one way. And I think it's red on the loom to the red plug on the adaptor.

I had to fade my rears up quite a bit to equal it all out, too.

Thanks for the help, all connected up correctly and working but I know now that some of my speakers are just broken.

The sub in the boot is working but the rear speakers aren't nor is the driver's side footwell speaker, gonna need to get those fixed now but god knows where.

Did you fade to the rear speakers? They need to be turned up.

Did they not work with the original HU?

Not entirely sure if they worked with the concert HU, I did fade to the rear speakers and all I can hear is the sub in the boot.

I faded to the right aswell and the only sound that comes out is from the small speaker near the door handle, so my only conclusion is that the driver's footwell speaker has and so has the rear speakers.
