Ah right, so 504.00 is a better quality of oil than the 502.00, guess that makes sense, as it's for longer life services and so wouldn't have any negative impact to be used for fixed service intervals. Does anyone have any idea about the 2 letter suffix's for the Shell Helix Ultra, AG, AV, AD etc?

Yeah thanks AllanG, from what the back of the manual says, it looks like for Longlife services it recommends 504.00 spec. Just wanted to check that fixed service should be 502 spec as it suggests.

Obviously it was a pretty freak incident, having a foil line pack of crisp fly exactly in front of the sensor of the car,but could have been nasty. Question is whether the benefits such as a possible prevention of a real crash outweigh this negative?

Use both of those products, they are both very good. As long as you top of the wax frequently and wash it correctly, you should avoid swirl marks. And whatever you do, do not let anyone else wash it, unless they are a proper detailer. Only problem with this is that you either have to wash it...
