Yeah I've just been reading up, i had heard the coil packs were a known issue, certainly was with mine but the more I read I'm thinking it may be the injectors now that are my current issue, seems to be running too rich and sounds terrible on start up. I'm still getting the misfire on cylinder 3...

Also the coil packs are a know issue for this model. Plenty of you tube vids though on how to fix and is relatively cheap!

It's the window winder mechanism. My old unit had effectively died, no grooves left to hold the cable in place and it was just chewing it everytime I tried to move the window up/down.

Todays job for me, dead easy swap. £12 on eBay (+P&P) bout an hour all in

happy to say the car is back with me and running smoothly now. New rocker cover, breather and plugs later. The seals had all gone on the inside of the cover and when I looked at it the plastic had cracked and worn hence all the air getting into the system. Means no new head unit this month but...
