Same thing happened to mine. Took it in to get it fixed under warranty and they had to replace the whole shift knob. Took a few days because apparently the part wasn't available in the States and they had to get one shipped over.
Doesn't seem to work on mine. I hit it and it tells me that I can't use the phone function of the MMI because CarPlay is active, but it doesn't show CarPlay. Seems like the only way that I can access it is by hitting menu and scrolling through the menu.
Thinking this probably can't be done, but figured I'd throw it out there. Is there any way to code the Media Toggle Switch on the center console to trigger CarPlay? It's pretty annoying to have to hit the Menu button then scroll with the wheel to CarPlay if you leave the CarPlay menu.

I couldn't get any of the modifications to work on my FL S3. It just wouldn't transfer the info to the vehicle for some reason. The only thing that I got to work was the exhaust flap mod.
I have heard that it works very well on the Pre FL models. I just can't recommend it for the FL models.

Digging up an old thread. So just to be clear, the plugs should be pulled when the car is off or do you pull the plugs with the car idling in dynamic mode?
