    S4 vs A3

Hi guys, I currently have a Audi A3 3.2 Q DSG and I'm considering an S4 V8, in "real world" performance does anyone know how the S4's 344bhp compares with the 250bhp of the 3.2 V6? Thanks, I've attached some pics as well

    DSG???

I tend to disagree, the DGS is very smooth and in D mode changes gears without you realising. In Sport mode the car will rev to the redline cleaning and you can flick the paddle or let the car change gear itself (which is slightly annoying) but it changes gear so much faster than a manual and...

first post - A3 3.2 Quattro DSG buying advice

I find for the cost of the Haldex change (about £65 at a specialist) its worth doing for your own piece of mind, it does use the Haldex system, same as the R32 and TT, so its still Quattro, but a lot of people say its not "real Quattro" like an S4 for example

first post - A3 3.2 Quattro DSG buying advice

Hi ml, I have a 3.2 DSG, amazing car with bags of subtle performance Keep an eye on the DSG and maybe request it to be VAG COm'd before buying to show up any error's. Mine almost drives perfectly apart from a wobbling rev needle, turns out its the mechatronic control unit, costing £1,750 to...

    DSG QUESTION

Well Audi have diagnosed the problem as a faulty Mechatronic Control Unit in the Gearbox, luckily due to the car having a replacement gearbox last year its still under warranty otherwise I was looking at a £1,790 bill! Its booked in next month, Audi have assured me its fine to drive until then

    DSG QUESTION

It could be, I've just noticed the car slight surging when it gets to 2k revs so maybe its worth Audi checking

    DSG QUESTION

    DSG QUESTION

Its a strange issue and without looking at the dash you would never know, it changes gears great in auto or Sport, the only other issue I've had is when I'm coming to brake I can feel the car going down the gears slight surge under braking? I have heard this is normal

    DSG QUESTION

Thanks for the kind offers guys, I'm based in the north west unfortunately, it is very strange and doesn't effect the cars performance at all, when you put it in S mode the revs rise and don't budge!!

    DSG QUESTION

Well its hard to explain but the rev needle moves about 100rpm (100 not a 1000) slowly up and down, with no particular rythym, doesn't happen at tickover only around 2k rpm and when you accelerate its solid right round to the redline

    DSG QUESTION

Its been VAG-COM'd and its thrown up no error's at all, it seems normal when you drive it, only when you look at the rev counter it moves ever so slighly, when you engage sport it stops, and revs smoothly to the redline

    DSG QUESTION

The gearbox is almost brand new, as it was replaced under warranty last year, its only done 7k miles, its a strange one only happens in 6th gear and all the gears change perfectly, plus just noticed it only happens below 60mph

    Some pics of my A3

Thanks guys, the offset is ET45 and they are 8.5 19" Really please with the way it looks, don't think you can go wrong with LM's, I toyed with the idea of coilovers but due to having to go over speed ramps everyday and poor road surfaces I kept it practical

What do you guys think? After the problems I had with the original wheels, I'm quite happy with the choice I've made for their replacements!
