lol, must be my Jenson Button driving style then! I realise they are a harder compound, and to be fair are crap in the wet on roundabouts but I put that down to the 1.9 lump in the front with hard compound tyres.

7k miles on brand new tyres!!! Does anyone else not think that's not good? especially on a 1.4TFSI, i'd expect it on the 2.0TFSI and S3's. I'm still on my original set of Pirelli Zero Rosso's at 32,000 miles...and i'm no grandad!

I'd be surprised if it was simply that. Modern diesels don't just stall very easily when in the gears. They'll quite happily remain idling in third at least anyway as long as the brakes aren't being applied to force it to slow further, or a steep hill of course. The torque will fight the stall...

what revs are you running when it cuts out? how old is the car? when was it's last service? My first thought would be when was the fuel filter last changed...

undefined Apparently they write their own remaps now so it won't necessarily be a generic map. An individual map done on the day on a rolling road is definitely recommended! AMD Essex has a very good reputation so you can't go wrong with them.

Thanks for the recognition chap! ;) as others have said, I have come across A3's in the past where if the sliding mechanism is not used it seems to get stuck. Maybe due to the grease used on the runners but it should just need a good push to free. Get in the back seat and give it a good push...

in my experience on other cars steer clear of ebay pads and discs unless they are BNIB brand named. Otherwise they are usually rejected stock due to floors of some sort and the pads are full of material that make s a hell of a lot of noise!! redstuff pads are a bit useless in normal road...

105 mate same as the 1.9 was...main difference is Common Rail injectors and 16 valves rather than 8 ;) oh and of course the capapcity but the turbo and extra air intake makes up for that loss very easily...

If you change any suspension settings from standard factory then it is advisable to have these boys set it up again http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/ They have centres around the country and these kits are bang on compared to the laser systems...
