Thanks for the info everyone.
Honestly, I think there may be a failed non-return valve or something for the issue with the starting.
Battery feels fine (Cranks for a good 3-40 seconds) and the starter also pulls fine.
But after 3-4 days not being used, it takes more like 60-80 seconds to start...
Had a few issues with my wifes A3.... Pretty sure it is the 2.0 170 TDI
I have heard there is an "expert" based somewhere in Nottingham who offers a fix for all problems on power.
Does anyone know who this is? Or can reccomend anyone over in Telford/West Midlands way to offer me any help...
Yes, it will be working .... but be unable to get up to pressure as it needs to be over a certain level of revs to power the pump.
Not enough revs (only cranking) no pressure.
Which is obviously VERY bad when it IS running as temps sky rocket and your engine will weld itself together!
... but...
Nah... that is just a warning light to cover all the bases when it cranks too long and doesn't fire up.
As long as you are sure you have oil, you should be fine. Had it on all my VAG motors.
Good idea.... but no, our drive is totally flat.
Although, I suppose if the pump seal is gone, it could still flow/siphon back, as the tank is much lower than the pump.
Going to give Audi a call and see what they say. :kissmyrings:
Hey guys....
My wife had a week commuting to work on the train, so the Quattro sat on the drive for a little over week, alarm on, not moving.
Came to start it on Sunday night and it cranked fine but wouldn't kick in.
Had the inevitable "Oil pressure" error pop up, as they do on all VAGs (Even...
Thanks guys....
Yup, the injectors have been replaced under warranty by Audi.
And when I say "no" turbo, I meant very little power, he said it felt slower than the 140!
When I search for A3 hesitation, I find a lot of threads talking about fuel filters being replaced.
Any idea how hard this is...
Help guys!
Wasn't happy with the car's power, so took it for a remap.
The guy test drove it said it felt very flat, as if the tubby wasn't coming in at all.
(56, 2.0 Quattro, 67k)
Remapped and it feels lovely!
You can feel the turbo and it feels like I expected it would do in the first place...
I'd be aiming to keep the Rolling Radius the same as the 17's.
If the car rides higher, then it will mean the size of the tyre/wheel combo is taller. Throwing off the speed, acceleration and ride.
