Pontefract, west yorks.
Rarely log on, maybe once or twice a week but always check the regional area.
Would attend all the meets if it weren't for work. Although I hope to make it to next months monthly meet!
Even with those measuring tools (Ive always known them snap gauges) you still need an external micrometer and there's a higher chance of making a mistake because you've got to be really careful not to push them in when measuring. Also you may be slightly out as you've got to measure the bore...
As above, you could use a bore comparator but these can also be tricky to use if your new to them, and you'll also need an external mic to check it against but much easier to use then an internal mic
You could use an internal micrometer. Having had a quick look on eBay they don't fetch much (buy a good brand like Moore and Wright, will last a lifetime) but if you've never used one they can be difficult to get the hang of when measuring bores.
Go for 1/4 bsf, has a tpi of 26 where as m6 would equate to 25.4 tpi so very similar. If the thread is badly pulled you may even be able to screw 1/4 in without tapping however if you tap it it will make a cleaner thread
Yep, another enjoyable meet, glad I was able to attend. Anyone who didn't missed out on a good day
Good to see new and old faces.
Even the missus enjoyed herself but was sick of car talk by the end... Haha
Nice drive, good weather (for October) tasty fish and chips and a quiet drink to finish...
Thanks for the suggestions so far.
Been past statlers loads of time, never knew they were tuners though...
Also looked at lvs, I sometimes work in that area so that could be a goer if I'm due there any time soon.
I'll see what else is about before I start making serious enquiries :)
After the clutch has recently decided to start slipping, I've decided while it's having it's clutch changed, it may as well have a remap while it's there!
I've done a bit if research and I will more than likely be going for the sachs organic and a stage 1 remap.
Now, as much as I'd like to...
Shocked how many people try it on jumping onto a car!
Drivers word against pedestrians, and I bet I know who would win...
Can't believe people try to steal cars too! Scary stuff...
If it were me, I would be doing one of two things if it was a real concern.
1. Replace all the related bolts with cap heads (harder)
2. Removing the prop shaft and drill everything to m12 and use cap heads
You could even use normal 8.8's but use the ones that aren't threaded all the way down...
