Battery drain with ignition on...........whats the current supposed to be?

Just be nice if there was actually some official or proven data that says 9A is normal draw, because from what I've seen, its all just guessing lol.

Battery drain with ignition on...........whats the current supposed to be?

Yes I know, but they arent on lol. EVERYTHING is switched off, only the ignition on powering whatever modules that need power :)

Battery drain with ignition on...........whats the current supposed to be?

Its 9A collectively with everything off, but only 5A unaccounted for :) Heated seats were off, they'd kill the battery in no time if they were on, hefty buggers they are lol. I appreciate all the systems draw something, but surely it shouldn't be that much? Headlights and drl's etc would just...

Battery drain with ignition on...........whats the current supposed to be?

Just tinkering with a lower than I'd like battery voltage on my B7 S4, so started measuring. Drain with everything off and asleep is about 30ma, and I've never had any problems overnight etc, so that seems fine. But its the battery drain with the ignition on that seems higher than it should...

    S4 exhaust cat removal

Did you go any further with this in the end? I've finally had my downpipes changed, and its transformed the car back again. The miltek high flow downpipes were completely broken inside, and reducing power a heck of a lot (pretty bad show form miltek, considering they'd be max 50k old) Anyway...

    S4 exhaust cat removal

If you do anything with the downpipes, you would need it mapped again to code out the o2 sensor fault codes, which lights up the EML (unless of course the engine light doesnt bother you, in which case you wouldnt need it mapped again)

    S4 exhaust cat removal

Oh, sorry I should of mentioned about the x or h pipes. I read your bit about 3 exhaust manufacturers saying you'd loose torque etc, and just assumed they thought that no matter what you did, which doesnt seem to be the case. And yeh, pre-cat does seem to be the way forward. As mine has milltek...

    S4 exhaust cat removal

As for loosing torque when fully de cated, that doesnt seem to be the opinion of those in the states. They've had good gains with full de cats, however it is always about the whole system, rather than one mod. I agree however that its not really worth the money for bolt on decated downpipes.

    S4 exhaust cat removal

If you really want to do something with the cats, then I'd drill out the precats on the downpipes. They are an awful design, and can actually be responsible for leaking cam cover gaskets, as well as putting more strain on the internals and making the engine run hotter! The precats are only a...

B7 S4 V8 downpipes blocked, stuck for what to do?

As far as I know, the Miltek's are 200 cell, but I could be wrong on that lol. But if that is the case, then yeh, you're right, a 200cell would be fine! If you look hard enough, you can find places that used to sell the automatic miltek downpipes, so I assume thats what is fitted to mine, but...

B7 S4 V8 downpipes blocked, stuck for what to do?

My Auto B7 S4 had miltek sports cats fitted to it when I bought it, which at the time was great. However, according to the ECU, both cats are now blocked/restricted. Seeing as the sport cats are basically just a pre cat, with no main cat, it means I cant just smash the cats out. So I'm either...

    B7 S4 Cab... is it a risk??

Also another thing to do on the S4 (albiet a design flaw rather than anything else) is to have the pre-cats removed. They very commonly start clogging up after 100k and can start causing problems. They also put a lot of load/pressure on the engine, so its a possible reason as to why the cam...
