My EML light had been on for a while, VCDS showed it as "intake manifold flap low voltage".
I changed my intake manifold to a flapless one earlier in the year and removed all my vacuum hoses. Only the electrical connectors to the solenoids remain.
Removed the connectors, sprayed in a bit of...
The cost of lowering your bus, a slightly sloping drive and trying to get up the same ramps that you always did before.
The ramp sliced it right open, least it was me that did it and not the missus.
Mid rub down.
Could he be a previous owner of your house James, "forgotten" to inform the DVLA that he'd moved?
Not quite the same but when I sold my old SEAT Toledo as an MOT failure a few years back a guy from London came and collected it in a recovery truck. A couple of months later I received an...
Is VCDS able to code out certain control modules?
I've swapped the intake manifold in my A4 B7 for a flapless one, removing the motor, but leaving the solenoids in place.
Every was fine for about 6 months, but now the EML is on showing a fault with the flap motor, even though it's not there.
Finally got round the fitting the 320mm discs and calipers (courtesy of member Bobby Tea), it's taken me long enough to get done. Much more businesslike than the wimpy 288mm originally fitted.
Also fitted stainless brake hoses whilst at it.
And managed to lose one of the caliper spring clips...
I removed all the vacuum pipework and solenoids too, just taping over the electrical connectors.
But this threw up the EML, so I replaced the solenoids but left the pipework off. It's looks much neater.
No the EGR to cooler pipe might have some carbon crud in it, but won't leak if loosened.
Yes the water pipe will though.
As I said, you need to remove your EGR valve to get at the manifold not inside.
How mine looks, with all removed.
