As long as it's not actually pouring out I can't see that filling it back up and bleeding the air out of the system would pose to much of a risk

Chris if it was the pressure seal on the end of the tie-arm to rack yes the bellows would fill up and eventually leak

At a guess it looks like the right hand side p.a.s pipe is leaking, they are common for the pipes. Unable to see the outside of that side rack bellows to give any further information

Milwaukee m18 fuel is a great bit of kit, but if the bolt is seized all you will do is snap it, try to get some heat into the area of the captive nut

You can do them in situ with a good stand alone coil spring compressor, a bit tricky or you can drop the subframe at that side and prise it out and new one back in. If it's a quattro mark the bolts to subframe are

They can move a little bit, mines got a small amount of movement on and I've just had the engine out for major repair and it's no problem

I've just had the engine out my a4, the wiring harness and ecu have to come out with it. The top cover has a rubber seal on it !!! May be worth checking
