    No the clutch is not biting at all. Its dropped to the floor, slave cylinder has gone, dropping all the oil out. £££

    No its not the pedal failing, its something up with the system. Master cylinder, slave cylinder etc.

    Also there is a very slight noise when the car is idling now, sounds like the clutch is ever so slightly engaged.

    Clutch pedal went to the floor while driving this morning, no loud noises or cracks, quick look at the pedal in the dark and both the pedal and the white plastic clip look ok at a glance. Limped the car home with no clutch at all and when I arrived there was a faint smell of burning clutch...

    Thanks, have changed these before so will do that. Cheers Bill, will swap the sensor and see what happens. If i still have problems i'll have to come see you.

    Ok so back in January i fitted a new genuine Audi thermostat which solved the problem instantly. But its now come back this week! My temp needle stays cool for ages then suddenly goes to temp. Could the new thermostat be shot already? Or could it now be the coolant temp sensor?
