Morning Everyone, I have a friend with an A6 4.2 v8 who's tiptronic ecu has gone into limp mode - he's had it checked out and they said the ecu needs replacing. Please can some one tell me how hard it is to remove this from the box as I hard these can be refurbed yourself???

I have a 2004 RNS-E and was just wondering if the 2011 new disc would work straight away or is the RNS-4 different now to the one I have?

Ah right - is there someone in the south wales area with this I can borrow for a second then? OR is there a website link I can create my own disc too????

Its was a genuine audi disc that also says RNS-E on it - but surely cos its got newer maps it shouldnt stop all the power to the rest of the funtions??

Just to confirm - just pulling the unit out and its a RNS-E Now have the power back but its only saying 'Insert Software CD' and no radio etc either
