Hi as you can see in the manual picture, it's supposed to have a sub-woofer tab, but mine does not have it. From what others told me nobody seems to have it.

I've only used the auto-scan feature, and then deleted the dtc's, after a rescan, it didn't come up anymore. So I take it the 'System function test' isn't really a fault, but just a test. Thanks a lot

I had a similar issue with an older A4 B5, and we found under the hood a loom of cables eaten by rodents. When looking under the hood do you see anything obvious? How often was the oil and filters changed?

the engine rattles at start up has nothing to do with the gear shift. Did you check or changed recently your braking fluid? The clutch is hydraulic, so is using the brake fluid for lubrication. So if your fluid reservoir is low and a little bit of air got into the system, you would need to bleed...
