I fitted four Uniroyal Rainsport 2's and have no complaints about grip in any conditions and the wear is excellent, however they have become so noisy I thought it was bearing noise. It's so bad I'm thinking of changing them although there is loads of life left, or maybe some ear plugs.
Browsing in my local (Ayr) branch and spotted this at £8.98/litre, marginally cheaper than Opie oils and possibly more convenient.

The DIS on my standard 52 plate S3 is a fibber. According to it I've averaged 33.4 over the past 18 months ( I never reset it). However the real world mpg calculated between fill-ups is always about 30. I liked the system on my VR6 highline which gave two average mpg's, one for each trip which...
I think given the overall poor condition of our roads is another valid reason especially if you're unfortunate enough to hit one of the many potholes the wrong way. I'd be gutted having to replace a nearly new Michelin as I know plenty people who have. I use Uniroyal Rainsport 2 all round, rears...
I bought the car from a dealer with the reps fitted (didn't know they weren't originals) and discovered two of the caps were held on with double sided tape some time after. Now have original 17's but would like the 18's back on. My reps are double drilled and didn't think oems would fit but I'll...
Don't wish to hijack the thread but I have a set of these reps. but with no centre caps. Anyone got any or know where they might be found? I know it's a long shot but you never know.
57 male (christ I'm the oldest here) comp. with protected NCD, £225 total excess, garaged. £185 for me and Mrs as named driver, £260 to include 28year old son. Admiral, been with them 8 years and I always shop around but no-one's ever got near them. 52 S3 bam.
Thanks for that, very comprehensive and slightly off putting. Sounds like a recipe for disaster as i'm sure I'd do some damage-will try your suggestion and use a soapy paintbrush
Could someone tell me a foolproof way to remove these without doing any damage? I'd like to clean in behind them as I can see a lot of crap behind them especially towards the back.
Thanks to OP, Ayr Audi replaced all 4 while I waited (52 bam). Performance and mpg much improved, they reckoned the one's they took out were the original ones.
