Retro fitted reversing camera / passenger dipping mirror

I hesitate to suggest this, but sometimes the obvious things can be overlooked. Have you set the mirror selection switch to the n/s mirror before you go into reverse?

Facelift A3 with Xenons - No self-levelling dance at switch on?

Wrong on all counts NHN. from the Government website: Headlamp washing and levelling systems are a legal requirement and required if the LED headlamp or high intensity discharge lamp has a luminous intensity exceeding 2,000 lumens. My facelift car was unquestionably factory-fitted with...

Facelift A3 with Xenons - No self-levelling dance at switch on?

My 2017 MY facelift A3 1.4tfsi Sport has factory-fit xenon headlights. These are presumably less than the 2000 lumen limit, because headlamp washers are not fitted. The automatic self-levelling on these headlights appears to operate correctly when I test it with a load in the boot, but there is...

Audi A3 8V Reverse Camera (High) DIY Retrofit guide!!

Yes, removing the handle is a pain. Depressing the two hidden plastic clips at the ends of the handle was the hardest part for me, but I made up a simple tool which helped a lot. Basically just a piece of 1/8 inch rod with a right angle bend, stuck in a file handle. Photos attached:

Audi A3 8V Reverse Camera (High) DIY Retrofit guide!!

Wayne I installed an AliExpress kit (Aidu) a year or two back, and like you the image was not level. Not as extreme as yours, but very irritating. It was a bit of a faff, but I opened up the handle and rotated the camera module a little by trial and error until the image was level, then wedged...

Complete engine and dash shutdown while driving

Something very fishy here. The old Audi(UK) advice on changing cambelt was every 5 years or after 140k miles. The 5 year change interval was discarded by Audi(UK) last year, and now the UK is in line with Audi Germany (and the rest of the Audi distributors worldwide) with a change at 140k...

    Map Update 2023

Ioannis -very likely. You can probably do this by patching your MMI to accept FEC codes for later versions of map, but the steps depend on what version of MMI you have.

If you need a bodyshop in Southampton area

I can highly recommend Mike Pritchard Motors in Wellow near Romsey. Just used them for a rear bumper repair on my wife’s Polo GT, and the work was first class, very reasonably priced, and completed very quickly. Small, Long-established, family business, run by Colin with the help of his sons...

    Audi a3 8v 35TDI Sport shock absorber/springs replacement - which to choose?

Nonicker If your main focus is comfort, you might want to look at Koni Special Active shock absorbers. They get excellent reviews, and appear to offer better comfort than standard shocks, together with sporty handling. They will be my choice when the time comes to change. Also, have you...

    AUDI RS3 8V1 GPS MAP 2023 HELP

You need a software patch to install new FEC codes. There are free patches available for several MMI systems on Mibsolution website, but they all seem to be for MIB2 systems, and yours is MIB1. There is a long thread on this forum with title “ Maps finally updated by themselves” which mentions...
