I had this last year and it was down to my earthing strap from body to rear diff/haldex.

S3BAM: Did you get the same fault half a clutch peddle then a full one, once warmed up, or did you lose it altogether? Did try and bleed using a one person bleeding kit. I had 20 psi on the brake refill and the slave cylinder bleed nipple in my hand and no fluid squirting out? Can this system...

Can i ask: My S3 - 02 plate (70k), has started playing up with clutch. The pedal, only when cold(worst first thing in morning) goes half way down before there is bite. This will last 1-3 miles or upto 5 minutes, generally untill warm. Then the pedal is back at the top. Having no problem...

Not the lumba support. The seat back/forward adjustment was inop. Whilst inside the seat i saw the lumba adjustment is moved on a greased wire. Maybe this has got dirty or no longer greased(?). Just a thought?

To confirm. No doubt it was the earthing strap. Car is totally different. No wheel spin. Just digs in. My car just span its front wheels before if i loaded up with anything but gentle boost in the wet and was useless in the snow. Its now just ice around Colchester and she seems to just pull...

The Quattro is back!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was the earthing strap on the rear diff. I cannot believe it. This is a dearler service car and must have been like this for years. What a difference. Thankyou all to your advice and suggestions. Those who look under yours regular, check the old strap?!

Found the eathing strap to rear diff broken. have replaced and car seems different. Need to drive more to be able to know. Could the fact that the rear diffs not earther caused problems??

Sorry my mistake. looking in wrong place for Haldex(fool) back not front of drive train. Shall start again. The front still leaking though.

To update. I cannot find the precharge pump on Haldex. Shall search for this, must be a diagram on net? The haldex/haldex side of gearbox did have oil on it, or very small oil droplets. Engine level seems fine. Therefore could be coming from Haldex or gearbox. Did axle stand the whole car up...

Car is 66k full dearler history and has always spun its wheels. Thought it was the tyres the dealer had put on so changed to P-Zeros. She still spins in the wet, thought it was all four wheels but maybe just fronts. My S2 and S6 had 300bhp(5-pot) and never spun even in wet. They did have nose...

Oh dear. Shall talk to my friendly dealer or maybe, I'm not completely mechanically stupid, even though have been driving a 2wd S3 for 16 months! Is there any tell-tell signs underneath that i can check? Thanks
