    If its constantly stuck in 4x4 like mine then yes you will be down on power, its just occured to me that if you remove the fuse then we should have only front wheel drive again. Regards Rob

    i belive the chip is soldered in, our ecu's are usually programed via obd2 or on a bench, but as far as I know no openning of the ecu is involved Regards Rob

    Overheating A3 1.6 Sport when idle/in traffic

    I if the fans are not coming on when the temp reachs just over 90 then I would check your thermo fan switch on the side of the radiator, thats what the fault was on my S3 with these symptoms ps vag-com cannot diagnose the fan control units or if your waterpump is working Regards Rob
