Issue sorted. It was the ABS ring built in to the wheel bearing that was stripped. Some kind of metal flake had got stuck in there and scraped it. New bearing and all is fine again.
Yes, i did. It was one of the rear ABS sensors that was to close to the ABS ring built into the wheel bearing. The ring was rusty and scraped against the sensor. I need to change the bearing in the future but for now, a washer between the sensor and the wheel hub separating the two a few mm...
I cannot see the sensor ring. Is it a part of the driveshaft or the wheel bearing? I pulled out the sensor but the sensor ring seems to be inaccessible.

Has anyone repaired the ABS sensor ring in the front wheel? Mine is throwing G47 front ABS sensor fault but i have replaced the sensor without any sucess, the fault is still there. My guess is that the sensor ring has been damaged.

Sorted this out today. Found out the wheel bearing and ABS ring are the same unit. In my case the ABS ring was packed with dust and dirt so there were no play between it and the sensor. Pulled the sensor out, cleaned it and put it back, also used a knife and some brake cleaner to clean the ABS...
No, not at all. He knew what bearing was faulty even without seeing the car, i explained to him over the phone. He had repaired several of these gearboxes before. The only special about mine was the worn out needle bearing and gear. The spare parts were "updated" to another kind. Strange that...
