Correction/Update. I Do hear the fuel pump running while I'm turning over the engine. So I guess that likely means the fuel system including relay are fine. So now I really have to figure out what the burned out fuse and fuse holder location is really for. I still can't reference to fuse...

i recently had a similar experience and it was the water pump. Ended up doing the whole timing belt, water pump, thermostat, etc job.

did you ever figure it out? I am starting to notice the same thing. At first I thought it was the driver's seat creaking as I leaned in turns but it's gotten worse to the point where it's obvious it's from the steering column area.

nothing is worse than just sitting there. Leave it with someone who you can trust to start the engine every other week to a month for 3 minutes and better yet drive it around the block. A run around the block will keep all moving pieces in shape, top off the battery and get a new layer of oil...

What's the facelift in reference to? 8L to 8P platform? Also, sticky is for an S3 and I have an A3 and I've never bothered to determine what the differences were...
