    Anyone have these? Chassis stiffener

The brace for the rear doesn't actually affect beam stiffness like an antiroll bar does. The brace merely supports the beam mounts on the chassis. If it's going to be a track car, cut out the middle man and get a cage. You only get the rear brace so I doubt you would feel anything.

    New 1.8T TTE360 Stage

Would be interesting if someone could fully break an already cracked Pro4 and see how deep the weld penetrated the stainless tube.

engine bores, liners and overall condition advice

Well the person who built the engine originally should have honed the bores prior to re-fitting the pistons w/ rings so you should be ok there. That the oil level has not moved in 2.5k miles is a good indication that the bores are not significantly worn Ok so due to the car overheating the...

engine bores, liners and overall condition advice

Yeah, sorry. I'd written one then upon re-reading it sounded like a child had written it so performed a major edit, lol. Prior to the engine rebuild were you suffering any oil consumption issues or smoking under load? Or was the rebuild done purely as a refresh when chasing power? Were the...

Head has to come off to get the pistons out

engine bores, liners and overall condition advice

Pistons have to come out to do a proper measurement. Yes, both in parallel to the crank ("A" on the picture) and perpendicular to the crank ("B" on the picture). Measurement should be taken near the top of the bore (approx. 10-15mm down from the headgasket surface). Another measurement in the...

    is my engine kaput?

I wouldn't say so no, because the integrity of the combustion chamber still is not known, I.e. whether it is cracked or not. Prior to refitting the head the valve issue should have been sorted and the head repressure tested.

    is my engine kaput?

So with the head pressure test inconclusive due to the valves not seating then you could may well have a cracked head, possibly explaining the coolant system pressurising. Did he check the valve guides too while testing, do you know? Excessively worn guides could also lead to incorrect valve...

    K03 change up?

You can do rods with the block still installed in the car, but I wouldn't fancy doing it. Much much easier with the block on a stand.

    TTE S3 Upgrade Turbochargers

Meh, just expressing MY confusion as to why someone would drive 3hours when they could reach the same end game much closer with someone who has equally as much knowledge of the platform as another outfit. Hence my parting line "each to their own"

    TTE S3 Upgrade Turbochargers

You're mad to travel 3hours for R-tech when Badger5 is very close by. They are easily as good as R-tech, if not better in my opinion due to actually being capable/willing to repair any issues that may arise prior to mapping unlike R-tech who have a habit of turning people away. Each to their...

    Rotating rumbling noise

A knackered bearing doesn't always have play in it. Changed many at work that were incredibly loud but had no play at all. Jack both front wheels up in the air and SUPPORT WITH AXLE STANDS (very important from a safety standpoint). Start engine and have someone drive it up to the speed where...

    Something a bit foreign

Hi TTE, I know this is an Audi forum but I currently own a BMW E92 335i N54. I see your website is currently offline for upgrades so can't check on there, but do you offer anything for the "dark side" (BMW)? lol. Cheers, James
