Oh no sorry didn't say that clear enough. I was just stating that it was 56 degrees on this ECU i'm not sure what it is on the OEM bosch ones that's all.
It's an MBE 992 :( plan was to change to emerlad k6 but i have decided to sell the car!
Just an update on what was wrong.
Due to the ecu being standalone, it ignored the lambda up until 56 degrees, hence why it was cutting out when it got to this temperature. Also the fuel pump was weak so i had replaced that.
The lambda has now been mapped out and the AFR stays around 11.2 on WOT.
I had a similar problem on my s3 and it was the turbo. Not saying yours is but mine made a very high pitched noise. have you taken the TIP off to check for play in the turbo?
Nope, i took it too a track day just before it happened. But it got there and back faultlessly, bare in mind it was a 8 hour drive there and back!
I then gave it a rest for a few days took it to work about 4 days later, then it cut out on me on the way to work. (i had just put £20 pound of...
I have an AMK engien in my mk2 golf unfortunately its running a standalone ecu.
But when it gets up to about 60 degrees on the CTS it just dies out, i noticed it was running a little leaner than usual before it started happening.
Does this sound like a dying fuel pump?
Thanks in advance
Joe
Well I've had a read up about dave at mek motorsport, and he seems to be clued up on this ecu, so I think I'll take it there for him to map. And that should hopefully sort out the horribly rich map the qpeng ecu comes with
Well I spoke to bill, he said there's no point in putting the amk ecu in, just get an emerald ecu and stick that in. So when it's off the road in December I'll be doing that
yeah its about 220ish now it it goes pretty well! Yes, hopefully i have a good one! i would be happy with anything between 290-310bhp.
That is more than enough in a mk2 golf :')
I haven't no. I'm located in cardiff so quite a trek for me.
Haha, yes i havent heard amazing things about these turbos!
Unfortunately bill doesn't like mapping this ECU, he is also very busy atm. I will be swapping out the ECU for an Emerald k6 over christmas time when the car comes off the road.
Yeah i had been considering water meth! i think i'll ask for switchable maps if it's possible. One running 330ish and one about 270ish. This way once i fit water meth i can run the 330ish.
Thanks for the advice AMJ :)
Hi everyone!
I've recently bough a 20VT mk2 golf - AMK
I know its not an s3 but it has the heart of an S3 and i know the knowledge of a lot of the members on here will be able to help me out with this car when needed :D
So basically its running a standalone ecu. Qpeng MBE ECU. The base map...
Well, I soldered the cracked joint back up! And to my surprise, the car runs like a dream, so anyone with any egt sensor problems! Just check your solder joints! Of that fails, then like aragorn said, buy new boards off sid!
