Audi have slowly been dropping the quality and engineering side for a while now to be honest.. same across the board for VAG cars it seems... read reviews for the T-Roc with its completely solid rock hard plastic interior no soft touch in site. Carwow review was not impressed with the wobbly...
Interesting and my perception is this - generally most noticeable bad driving seems to occur in ‘premium’ German branded cars, andnin my opinion for what I see generally VAG branded cars - perfect example of this yesterday was a brand new A6 sat right up my back bumper in stationary traffic...
Certainly noticed this from when I took our 8P in for a service and was given a new 17 A3 Sport - little things like the door hinges, bonnet release, torsion beam suspension, floor hinge accelerator pedal amongst others...
I had a new 17 plate A3 Sport as a courtesy car and that rattled round the steering column and other places, previously had a A4 B8 one that rattled by the windscreen pillars. Bit disappointed to hear them...
The Insignia I have driven most recently was a 2011 2.0cdti basic model. The sound system was terrible in it, lacking bass and sounding tinny. Strangely it was far worse than the current Corsa which for a standard system isn’t actually that bad sounding in mid volume.
I had a new A3 1.6tdi Sport with recently with the standard system as a courtesy car. It was merely okay - nothing more, just a basic sound system and no different really to the system in a Skoda Fabia 1.4tdi I was using at work at the time - simply meh.
The Bose in the 8P cab I have is better...
Hmmm possibility, but my thoughts is this...
The usual mass production manufactures have these days mass production down to an art hence why some of the more main stream companies do fairly well with regards to reliability.
However desirable brands such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes etc have...
My main daily driver other than the 8P A3 2.0tsi Cab I have, is a MK5 Mondeo 2.0 180tdci Powershift Titanium X-Pack which has the same engine as the Focus ST TDCI
The engine is great and in the Mondeo heavy body shifts it along nicely. A recent 120 miles driving I managed to get 57.4mpg which I...
Wow really?? Harsh, he’s working for a mass production car company on an A3 not in the Rolls Royce factory. I’m not saying he shouldn’t have respect for the car or that the original poster hasn’t worked hard to buy a car that is expensive but such scathing critic of a guy doing his job without...
The 1.6tdi is gruff and sounds like it belongs in a van on idle and setting off its okay up to speed. It’s quick enough but not really much more economical in my experience of a courtesy vehicle and driving of numerous other diesel cars over the years from loads of other manufactures like Alfa...
I’m not being funny but, okay he’s leaning on the bonnet a bit, he’s hardly pushing it hard to damage it or rubbing gritty rags over it, no different really to people leaning across the bumper checking oil and fluids etc... I can’t hear sound on the video? I’m guessing the engine is running...
