    New member intro

Hi Joel, welcome to the forum. I'm willing to bet you've got a good one ;) Very sad to see it drive off but as you didn't disappear in a cloud of tyre smoke, I have a feeling you'll look after it as much as I have. Enjoy it fella! Any questions just call. Jamie

    Off to pastures new...

Thanks Sandra, have a chap coming to see it Saturday - all getting a bit real now! It's been such a great car these past few years!

Cannot believe how much these have rocketed up. I looked at Roadsters last year, before putting more money into the house - £7k bought you an average miler, £9-10k bought you a great one. Roadsters are now much more, Coupes are worth ridiculous money! Iconic!

Ah apologies, I completely misunderstood - I thought you were going down the garage/dealer route! Good to hear!

Filling me with confidence! By all, if not, most accounts, the engine and drive chain are bullet proof. The only issues that seem to arise are poor maintenance related.

I heard/saw, Bill - really looking forward to it and thanks once again for your help/time on the phone/here! Cheers Paul! Echo the thanks again - very patient man! Ha, yes, I'm definitely going to have to get used to a new way of driving over Xmas. I've already got Winter tyres booked in for...

    Off to pastures new...

So the time has come; an end to half a decade in S territory! Very sad to see the old girl go - it's been a fantastic 5 years. Blatted around in the car yesterday on the way to the missus' parents for Sunday dinner - 30minutes of A/B/Dual Carriage way fun. With my next purchase being RWD, it...

MOT failure on emissions - S3

Just an update - sailed through this morning with no issues. Blasted it about over the last five days in the evening, 30 min blast before the MOT, all good. Thanks to all in the thread. I've still only been able to use dash command and iOBD11 iPhone apps for scanning fault codes as I live with...

MOT failure on emissions - S3

Yeah I've misread it. It says either no fee if left there or minimal fee if removed from the tester. I should have asked but it'll be going back on Saturday anyway.

MOT failure on emissions - S3

I'd presume so? I thought if you didn't leave it with them, but returned within ten days, it was a reduced cost?

MOT failure on emissions - S3

I'll be home in about an hour so will scan it properly then. Thanks for the help so far fella.

MOT failure on emissions - S3

No codes with dash command. Going out later to do some logs with the laptop and vcds. Oil changed not that long ago. Did have a rattling cat shield which kwik fit removed rather forcefully... Worried that's done damage to the lambda...!

MOT failure on emissions - S3

CO - and I got the figures wrong; limit is 0.3 and mine ran 1.34. Ah ok. So, if my car has been doing short journeys pretty much all year that could be the issue? Is there any way to test it myself at home? Last thing I want to do is spend another £45 for it to fail again...

MOT failure on emissions - S3

I don't think so no. I've seen a few posts from searching about ragging the car first. Does it really do the trick then? Sadly I don't have any MOT friends!

MOT failure on emissions - S3

Hi guys, My car failed it's MOT this morning. First one in its 12 years on this planet :( Emissions are at 3+ when apparently they should be 0.3 or below. I have noticed a drop in performance especially when cold and a drop in fuel efficiency recently... Last time it was a faulty MAF... So...
