    Towbar wiring help needed

Hi - job now done, using a wiring diagram from haynes manual and a basic wiring guide online for the trailer socket. Although fiddly, job is much easier once the 'braid' is stripped off the wires from the lights to about 8inches back.

Need advice: A4 (B5) 1.9TDi PD engine. How to change a thermostat please!!!

As title suggests, I need to replace the thermostat in the car (2000 A4 (B5) 1.9TDi PD 115). I've been told by a local mechanic that it's a pig of a job, and that the bumper, h'lamps, and rad need to be moved forward. I've also been told it can be done by only removing the alternator. Can...

    Towbar wiring help needed

Hi - same request as above - towbar was fitted yesterday, now need to 'wire' it up. Came off an 'X' reg B5 Avant with only scotchlocks - no adapters or anything, worked ok for many years. Just need basic advice on which wires (colour codes) to connect to the towbar cable - I'll be soldering them...

lost wheel centre - replica RS4 alloys. Where to get another? Have you got one spare?

Yesterday I lost one of my wheel centres of my car. Fitted with replica/copy RS4 alloys i think, in 17". Don't know who made them, so not sure where to find one. Standard wheel centre of 16" standard Audi alloys won't fit. Here's some pics. Any help greatfully received. Thanks. Any...

    HID install (picture heavy!)

great guide there - just fitted mine. 'like a glove' as you say. Quick question - in my kit there are 2 extra bags of cables - each with a 20w 10ohm resistor. What's that for? any ideas?

no not this year and yes - many many times. It's cheaper to take part in the event than to go and watch it (well, not quite but you get my drift).

Looking for a HID kit for my car - recommendations please

Agreed. Raised the level of the beam a half turn on each lamp last night. No better. I've given the stock set up plenty of chances to prove itself - but for whatever reason - as ian52 says above, might as well use 'faith' and 'hope' to guide you (they're both lovely, by the way).

Looking for a HID kit for my car - recommendations please

Having spoken to a few on some other forums, the recommendation is the 35w kits. I can get either of these kits to within a few quid of each other (discount codes are available for 'hids4u'. Can any of the experts here tell me if there's any diference between the 2? Many thanks once again - i...

Looking for a HID kit for my car - recommendations please

Lens clean, voltages ok. It's just a p1ss poor design on the dip beam projector for halogen bulbs (weren't they designed for HIDs originally with this type of lens anyway?). Right, I can see 35w and 50w kits - is there any benefit to having the 50 over the 35w?

Looking for a HID kit for my car - recommendations please

I've checked and double checked the lot - they're set up absolutely spot on. Main beam on the car is plenty good enough, just that the dip beam is completely pants. As for the 'cut off', when I adjust them (dipped beam) to their 2 lowest settings I can clearly see the cutoff on the road, on the...

Looking for a HID kit for my car - recommendations please

Aragorn: I realise they are illegal, but currently dip beam is 'unsafe' to drive with, and with kids in the car i need to be able to see where I'm going. ian52: Agree 100%. My old Imp with 7" Halogen Sealed Beam headlamp units had better output. jcb: have looked on the site - i'm new to...

Looking for a HID kit for my car - recommendations please

Hi folks, I've had enough of the poor dip-beam on my A4 (facelift 2000 year model - single piece h/lamp and indicator unit). Am looking for a good, HID kit for the car. Nothing too bright, but need a kit that can let me see where I'm going when dipped. I believe there are kits available...

Need your advice please - best way to get MP3 sounds in my car (Concert - not bose)

Installed the Connects2 device earlier today, sounds good - high quality. Also, discovered that you don't need the audi tools to remove the radio. A bit of ingenuity and 5 minutes got the radio out easily. Thanks for all the suggestions in this thread on what to do, glad I didn't go for...
